“Highly recommend it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2012

We had initially planned to stay 7 nights at the moroccan house in Casablanca, BIG mistake!, (Hotel was great but the city was horrendous) when we asked they kindly arranged a transfer ,without any hassle, to Marrakech and offered to store our excess luggage for when we returned to fly home- all FREE of charge. On arrival we found the staff were just as friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful!- They get a standing ovation from me when it comes to service.

So we spent 4 nights here and really had a fantastic time. The hotel is lavishly decorated with beautifully bright colours and authentic Moroccan furniture it gave the place a really warm and friendly atmosphere. The room was clean and tidy with air conditioning, tv and a safe (about 7 dirhams per day-50p). We stayed on the first floor and found it fairly quiet.
The pool area is pretty small there's not a great deal amount of space, its a real god send after sweltering 40+ degrees C in the afternoons.
The food was okay nothing spectacular though they did give you an awful lot to eat, I know its Ramadan but we weren't as hungry as the cooks must have been. Breakfast is served on the roof which is really nice and cool in the mornings.
The location is great, about 10 minuets walk to the shopping plaza, 20 to the Majorelle gardens, well worth a ganders, and around a 10 minuet taxi ride to the Souks in the medina, which cost us on average 20 dirhams (£1.50) for 3 people after a fair bit of negotiation of course.
All in all it was a fantastic experience and I'd absolutely go back again!

just got back after spending 3 nights here. The hotel is in a kitschy riad style and the rooms are pretty basic but offer an authentic experience of Marrakesh. It is situated in Gueliz - the new part of town where most of the buildings have gone up in the last ten years, that aside this is a quiter part of town compared to the main medina and souks but still only a 5-10 min taxi ride which only ever cost us a family of four 50dh (approx £3.50) . Clean towels, sheets and air con that works (we experienced temps in the high 40's so air con was a must) is always high on our checklist as are friendly staff and MHH had all these points covered. The breakfast was taken on top the roof over looking marrakesh and was plentiful with a good choice. If anything had run out a staff member was always on hand to replenish - but be aware that service is much slower than we expect from our 100 mile per hour culture.....we were considerate of this slower rate of service as we were on holiday, they were working in high temps during ramadam serving us food and drink! Our water baby enjoyed the pool, which was a little cramped around the poolside but was a cool and refreshing treat. A fantastic treat for us parents was the hamman, a lovely relaxing, cleansing treatment undertaken very thoroughly by the staff. We followed this by a an hours massage - bliss!!!! Only costing 530dh approx (about £35 for nearly 2 hours of pampering)...we would definitely go back again....thanks all at MHH for a lovely break.

Room Tip: we had room on the road side rather than the pool side which offered a little bit of road noise but...

You usually have to read TripAdviser reviews with a 'filter' as too many people are far too critical. Unfortunately in this case a lot of the critical views are right.

Decor - Is interesting. Very colourful Moroccan style furniture, a bit kitsch but fun. The four poster beds have metal frames which rattle loudly when you move even slightly.

Noise/clean - Despite what some of the reviews say it is clean enough, except for the pool area. We had a second floor room at the front and it was quiet enough every night, so I'm not sure what those complaining about noise are talking about.

Food - We had inclusive evening meals, but only ate it on the first night when we arrived just before 21:00 when they stop serving. It was terrible. Abysmal. Dining room looked lovely with painted Moroccan style tables, but you were forced to share a quite small table with other guests. The harira soup was tasteless. The turkey kebabs and rice had some taste, but not a particularly pleasant one! All very cheap and nasty, so we never returned.

Breakfast - is OK as far as it goes, which isn't far as the reviews that complain about items running out are right. The omelettes are OK, but not brilliant and they are the best part of the breakfast. Breakfast should include pancakes, fresh orange juice (but not every day and kept running out), tasteless coffee, occasionally some melon, very nasty tasting cold meat and a selection of cakes - the lemon sponge is actually quite nice. In theory it is 7:00 to 10:00, but in reality you need to be down before 9:00 to have any choice at all.

Bathroom and towels - are clean, but old, thin and stained. Not always replaced when they should be. Bizarrely you are given a toothbrush, full tube of toothpaste and shaving foam which is better than most hotels. Unfortunately you get four tiny sachets of shampoo (for three people) that aren't replaced unless you ask, which is far worse than most hotels.

Air conditioning - is effective, but the reviews complaining about water dripping out are right. Don't put anything under it.

Pool - is small and the surrounding area isn't the best maintained, but it has an adult and child section which are adequate. Unfortunately, it isn't the cleanest area as staff are rarely seen to clear away dirty plates, cups, glasses, ashtrays etc. It doesn't get direct sun for most of the day, but given the heat that is a plus point, not a negative as some people claim.

Staff - aren't particularly helpful and only became really friendly on our final day - can't think why :-)

Our stay was only for 1 night and had been arranged by a tour group. The tiled decor throughout the hotel was amazing and a work of art in itself, the rooms were decorated in beautiful colourful furnishing and bedding, somewhat exotic but cute. The rooms were clean, tidy and suited our needs. The breakfast was unexpected - it was a buffet selection of juices, teas, and a huge selected of breads, pancaked and if wanted eggs/omelettes were cooked to your choice. A nice offering first thing in the morning.
Most importantly the staff are honest. After leaving the hotel I remembered I had left an important personal item in the room - the hotel staff located the item and with the assistance of our tour guide arranged to have the item forwarded to our next destination the next day. I cannot thank them enough for this.
Would HIGHLY recommend to anyone staying in Casablanca.

Room Tip: Each room is decorated in a different colour scheme - and each would be an experience to enjoy.

Just got bach from the MHH yesterday, a brilliant little hotel, in a good position.

The staff were all very friendly and willing to help.

The hotel was clean, tidy and most importantly, cool on the inside.

The average temperature for the week we were there was around 42 degrees centigrade, so a fully functioning air con was a must and that was available.

A few things that I have picked up from my visit, and this site, which I would like to clarify.

The pool-Yes, the sun gets onto the pool area from early morning till around 1 pm. Given the current temperature out there, and all of the available facts about skin cancer, I would question anyone's mentality(especially if you have children) with regard to who would want to sit in the sun all day in a 40 degree heat. Just to clarify, after 1 pm, the sun goes behind the hotel and then travels west across the hotel until it sets.

The decor-some call it kitsch, others, original. It is definately different and it beats the bland, sterile decor you get in a corporate hotel.

Noise-we were on the 1st floor, facing the road and didn't hear any noise that I would call disturbing. It was usually quiet after 10pm.

We did not eat at the hotel because we wanted to sample all of the various food in the area but it did look good at the hotel.

Based on our own experience, I would certainly reccomend this charming hotel and do not take any notice of the innacurate and nasty little reviews of this hotel.

As usual with most of the bad reviews on this site, people want something for nothing and then complain aftrewards. Read all of the site information and do your homework, that way you will not be dissapointed.

Very nice, clean and pretty hotel, decor little bit over the top but someone has obviously put a lot of effort into it and we liked it!

Rooms cleaned daily, towels not the cleanest but clean enough, good breakfast on the terrace, lot of choice so everyone is bound to find something they like (omelettes, pancakes, fresh orange juice, cakes, cereal, bread, vegetables, jams etc.).

Staff very friendly happy to help with any requests. The pool doesn't get the sun for very long but that didn't bother us because if we wanted to sit by the pool all day we wouldn't have gone to Marrakech which has so much more to offer than sitting by the pool.

There were few negatives such as the fridge reeked awfully every time you opened it even though it seemed clean? Also the air con always started dripping water after 30 mins of use which was not very health and safety conscious but then nothing in marrakech seems to be anyway! (crossing the roads is always an event in itself!)

Location is good and I think it was good to be out the medina. The walk into the medina is very easy it's a 25 min walk down Mohammed V or just hail a taxi for 20/30 dh. Don't get the taxis from right outside the hotel as they are far more expensive. Bring earplugs because it can get noisy outside although it never kept us awake. (maybe because we had earplugs?)

One thing to be aware of is if you book through english websites such as lowcostholidays as a room for two people this is advertised as a room with balcony/terrace which is not a case, only the 2 single bed rooms or family apartments have balconies! Not a fault of the hotel though so it's all good would recommend.
