The best part of the riad was the lovely and spacious roof terrace. A kitten and it's mother were living up in the terrace providing us with the only source of entertainment available within the riad. To be honest there was absolutely nothing to do so I would recommend staying out for as long as you possibly can, however this is unbelievably easy as there is so much to see in the nearby Jemal D Fna etc.
I hated coming back to the riad late at night which felt like coming home to your mum as you had to ring the door bell and was a bit too intimate!
The beds weren't very comfortable and I think the bed linen needs to be updated!
The staff were lovely and very friendly, providing us with loads of information, maps etc.
I would recommend Riad Des Olivers to couples, not families. Location is a major factor, very central and yet not loud at all.
In my opinion it felt in a way that you were staying in the slums of Marrakesh, unlike when visiting them in other places, I was staying in them. This is definitely why 2 nights is enough! We spent the third night in a hotel with a swimming pool which was more like having a holiday! The riad made me realize that when on holiday, I like having more luxury than I have at home. This is my view... I recommend trying the riad for yourself to see what you think!!!

Pros: SUPER friendly and helpful staff, beautiful terrace for relaxation, decent breakfast, classic riad style, and oddly, beautiful call to prayer. Luckily we had a guide from our first Marrakech riad helping us find this place, as it's a fair distance from main medina alley ways. We enjoyed our stay. Great bathroom with a huge tub in one of the rooms, and our friends had great showers in their rooms (a good shower is NOT a given in Moroccan riads!). The morning call to prayer was a rare treat... the closest mosque had what sounded like an Italian opera singer doing the call to prayer. We were all struck by what a beautiful 15 minutes of song it was.

My daughter and I came for a 5 night break at the end of November to celebrate her 27th birthday. The Riad was down a side street about 500 yards and if it had not been for the taxi driver, we would never had found it! Kamal, the night porter, showed us to our room which was bog standard, pipe in the wall for a tap (copper pipe which was very sharp) and a bath that we did not use. No plug for basin or bath.
Beware the lads on their motor bikes. At least you can hear them coming! We spent a lot of time in the Medina but due to the position of the Riad, made sure we were never late. Sarah was always accosted and by the end of the week was fed up of boys telling her that they were her husband and did she remember them? Knowing some french is very handy and then you try not to reply in English, helps as they love English speaking girls.
Our first impression was that it is a poor country, beggars are everywhere. Be careful in the souks as they will make a lot of money from you. Food is cheap and a glass of gorgeous orange juice cost 30 pence in the market.
The Bahia palace cost 10 dirhams and was amazing. It helped that we went in the winter as it was still hot at 27 celcius. This is on the main street just around the corner from the Riad. Always use the petit taxis as they can be very cheap. Know the price in advance. We have seen several fights due to some taxi drivers trying to get your custom at the main tourist areas when there is a rank not far away. Can be quite scary as my Arabic is nil.
We have decided not to visit Marrakech again, unless we stay in the new City or come on a tour with a group to the mountains. Did not see the Atlas Mountains till we were on the plane leaving the country.

We have just spent the first week of November in this riad. The communal courtyard area is nice, pretty much what you would expect from a riad. However the rooms are quite poor. We had booked and paid in advance, perhaps that was why we were initially given a very poor room, it was just not acceptable, paint peeling off the wall etc. We asked to be shown another room, and were told we would have to see the receptionist the following morning, but were then shown another room 5 minutes later, which was better. If we had just arrived without a booking (as we usually do when travelling!) we would have said it would do for one night, then looked for something better the following day. Unfortunately, as I said we had booked and paid through a travel agent for the whole week, so we made the best of it. The staff were friendly enough, though you did get the impression they were trying to steer you towards certain restaurants and trips, but that's just the way things work in places like Morocco.
The breakfast was ok, but very little variety, orange juice, low quality pastries / pancakes, jam and yoghurt, tea or coffee, no cereal or cooked options.
In summary, I would advise people to spend a bit more money, do a little research and find somewhere better.
