We stayed here (2 adults, 2 children [9&11]) for 5 nights and had a fantastic time. The whole place was beautiful, the service really good and the experience very positive. It was February, so we didn't get to use the pool - although it looked lovely! We didn't use the spa facilities either. We ate in on the last night and it was 'ok' but not one of the highlights of the place. Overall, I would highly recommend it - I'm unlikely to return to Marrakech, but if I did, I would stay here!

Stayed at the Riad with friends for 4 nights early February, blown away! We were met from the taxi and walked through the Medina to the front door, quite an experience for first time in Marrakech but once we stepped inside it was like a different world- so calm, cool and sophisticated. We were treated to mint tea and nuts/biscuits to relax beside the pool before being shown to our lovely rooms. As we had arrived in the evening we ate in the hotel restaurant, very intimate, very low chairs! atmospheric, lovely food and Morooccan wine. Breakfast on the terrace in the sunshine every morning and sunbathing on other terrace in afternoon- lovely for early February. We all enjoyed the hammam and my friends also had a massage which they recommended, lovely experience. Staff couldn't do enough for us, everytime we came back we were treated to more mint tea, felt as if we were in our own private Riad although there were other guests there. Stay here if you want to feel pampered and special, a lovely experience.

Room Tip: Riad will send a guide with you to show you the way back, always take your map with you! It is a bit...

Very Moroccan chic. It's a gem. Once you have found the place which is an experience in itself, you'll find a beautiful, typical Moroccan riad. The entrance, the central pool area, the roof-top terrace for a delicious breakfast. My room, no. 4 if I recall, right in front of the pool, was just awesome. Lots of special lighting, woods, ceramics. 16 ft ceiling, fireplace. You can find certain flaws but it is a very old building, but its charms over weigh all that. The hostess and all the personnel were truly welcoming and it was always a pleasure to serve us.
The riad is difficult to find if you haven't been to Marakesh before. When you get a taxi to drive you there for the 1st time, ask the driver to call the riad so they can pick you up at the Bab Takzouk, the closest plaza.
People who say it's not in a nice area don't appreciate the uniqueness of living in the Medina. It's definitely not an american type of neighborhood. But you won't regret it if you' re looking for something different, yet with all your wifi, TV, AC and so on.

Room Tip: I had room 4 which I recommend, right in front of the pool.

We got married at Riad Charai in September. It was perfection!

We took over the riad for 3 nights. The staff, service, food, experience was amazing. We will be back.

Robin and Meriem are so helpful and speak great English. Yousef is wonderful!

I think the location is a good spot for exploring Marrakech. The main taxi rank is a 2 minute walk. You can get a taxi into the Medina or to the new town. It seems a bit scary at first but you get used to it.

This riad has only 8 rooms, but is really big! It has so many corners, rooms and terraces, that the 8 couples will always find a place to sit alone if they want.

Inside it was quiet and peacefull, nice decorations.

Location is a downside. It's about 15-20min walk to tha main sqare, but trust me - even if you have a map, you WILL get lost, as many alleys are not on the map, and signs with street names are also often missing.
Many children will aproach you willing to kindly show you the way, but be carefull - at the end of your trip or half way, they will ask for money. We tried to give 5 dirhams to the first boy that tricked us, he claimed it was nothing and asked for more. We told him we never asked him to walk with us. Seriously, he approached us himself and we just wanted him to show a direction, but he started walking with us and we had to put lots of efforts to tell him that he shouldn't walk with us. After this he claimed 5dh was nothing. We got so irritated and gave him 10dh more just to get rid of him. My advice - if you are lost - ask people in shops to point you for direction, or stop locals on the street. Many won't speak english, but with a map in a hand and a smile you will get far!

Our room was just above the restaurant. No windows, but it didn't bother us, as we enjoyed the piece from the hectic life in the Medina outside. The sheets were clean, the bathroom was nice looking, but the bathtob was so leaking, we had to use all towels on the floor each time one of us went to the shower.

Internet was unfortunatelly very slow and only in the reception. TV had 2 channels.

Upstairs there is hamam and massage for good prices, and you simply do not have to leave your property!TThe best part of this was the massage. Tak it!

Dinners had to be prebooked, which we didn't find so convenient. Breakfast was a bit poor - bread, youghurt, some cheese and plenty of sweet jams - nothing to really fill you in.

But all in all a good place if you want piece, nice surroundings and a spacy riad. Finally - here you can pay by credit card! And no extra fees for this. This was really cool, because we could get rid of all dirhams just before leaving and pay the rest by card.

Have a nice trip!:)

We have just returned from Riad Charai. When the taxi from the airport stopped in the street for us to walk to the Riad we thought he must have made a mistake. We did not expect what we saw. The street is very run down, smelly, dirty and intimidating. However, there is a huge contrast once in the Riad. It is a beautiful old Moroccan building and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The room was lovely and breakfast was great, served up to 11 am! A member of staff will escort you in the evening if you want to go out for a meal in the Medina or to a taxi rank and they will also collect you to walk you back. I would not like to have been on our own at night time. Be prepared to be hassled every step of the way when you venture out. If you do want an adventure and somewhere to stay within the Medina walls, I would recommend Riad Charai - and do have a hammam.
I would recommend a trip into the mountains to visit the Berber region. The Riad will arrange this for you and you have your own car and driver for the day. We also did the city bus tour which is good value.

Room Tip: We had room number 7 which is a standard room and very pleasant. There are 2 flights of stairs up...
