Returning to the subtle unmarked entrance, into the soothing quiet and peace of Martyn's comfortable and welcoming Riad, is a moment of bliss at the end of a hot happy hunting day in Marrakech. The staff are attentive, but not intrusive, and Martyn is a mine of information. Even the other guests are seemingly well chosen, in a friendly and unobstrusive way.....A delightful Riad and highly recommended.

Spent 4 days with my husband in mad but enchanting Marrakesh. We stayed at the Riad Jonan after having read several reviews. We were not disappointed . From the moment we walked through the door we were taken care of by the Brish owners and their warm and friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble , they gave us so much helpful advice that we wera able to really make the most of our first visit to the city. The rooms were spotlessly clean, beautiful Moroccan furnishings yet all mod cons even i pod
We had dinner in the riad. The best couscous we have ever had. The breakfasts were also delicious and abundant. I'd reccomend Riad Jonan to anyone wanting a wonderful stay in the Marrakech medina

My partner and I stayed at Riad Jonan as the first stage of our driving holiday across the south of Marrakesh and wow...what a great start!

Howard (& his delightful little dog Kiko) and his staff were welcoming, friendly and so knowledgeable with some excellent recommendations on places to visit, eat, car hire...you name it...nothing was too much trouble...(n.b Kiko didn't actually do any advising but was great entertainment and added charm/character to the already beautiful Riad)

We were greeted at the airport by our very friendly taxi driver and driven through a maze of people, scooters, donkeys, shops and side eateries all spilling their wears onto the street...immediately the hustle and bustle of Marrakesh was upon us (and I too would say without a doubt, that if you want to experience the "true" Marrakesh then you must stay in the Medina)...then, pulling up to a stop...you can't help but think that the driver must surely be mistaken...how can this possibly be the right place as it's just a little doorway in an alley...the door is opened and you are greeted by Howards lovely staff, who show their hospitality immediately by bringing you some eagerly accepted mint tea with tiny Moroccan pastries in the beautiful, tranquil setting that is Riad Jonan.

I could talk forever about the attention to detail and personal touches that are sprinkled throughout but will leave that for you to discover for yourself...it is a delightful place to stay in a perfect location, ideal if you want to be in the heart of the action!

We had the best breakfast ever at Riad Jonan...if you like yogurt then you simply must sample their homemade version with fresh fruit for breakfast...it is amazing!

With regard to Marrakesh itself, I was very surprised at how expensive or high "bidding" starts in the local shops and souks...be prepared...have a figure in mind that you would be prepared to pay (realistic)...and stick to your guns...if you're realistic then the seller will soon come chasing after you to "close the deal!"

...also, one final tip from me - negotiate the price with your taxi before you get in (as they all seemed to claim that their meter was broken!)...make sure that you have the exact money too otherwise you'll be a victim of the "I have no change" routine!

All in all a fantastic holiday - would definitely go back and without any hesitation, would recommend Riad Jonan! Thank you Howard!

I have stayed at Riad jonan on 4 occasions, I found it whilst looking for a Riad that was worth the money and this one is it! The owners are very helpful and the staff are friendly too. Also has a beautiful decor. It has an excellent location away from the crowds of the North Medina but within easy walk of the main attractions and the Jemaa El Fna square. Marrakech is a beautiful city and I love to visit it and I will always stay at Riad Jonan to enhance the experience. :0)

We were a party of 11 people celebrating my Dad's 70th Birthday and My Parents 50th Golden Wedding Anniversary. On arrival at the airport we were met by Howard (owner)and 2 mini buses. I would definatley recommend you to book a transfer via the Riad. We all had a fantastic time at the Riad Jonan, the staff and the service was 100%. Both Martyn and Howard were approachable whenever we required advise on trips, taxi's and restaurants. They told us about 2 restaurants that we booked to go to to celebrate the Birthday & Anniversary. Both restaurants were excellent. We had breakfast every day for all 11 of us on the Roof terrace which was both delicious and in a lovely setting. When we returned in the evening it was lovely to sit around the dipping pool having a nightcap before we all retired to bed. I do not know how anyone can complain about this Riadn it is well worth a visit. The overall correspondance, booking and payment via E-mail direct with the Riad was very easy and straight forward. They even found another Riad at the last minute for 1 additional friend as she decided to come with us less than 1 week before travelling. The Riad allowed her to have breakfast with us all even though she was not staying at our Riad for 2 nights. Brilliant place to stay.
