The Riad is beautifully restored and perfectly situated for the Souks, Main Square and visiting gardens, palaces etc. The staff were a delight with beaming smiles whatever was asked of them. The pool was cool but very welcome after hours sightseeing. This is a small hotel that offers everything a 5* can with a much friendlier welcome. We had dinner a couple of times and were delighted with the traditional Moroccan tagines, couscous and salads. Breakfast was a joy with homemade pancakes, fruit etc which was served at any time required. Lots of trips will be happily arranged with excellent guides. Cookery lessons - trips to the hamam - shopping etc nothing is too much trouble. We would certainly go again.

Room Tip: All rooms are good but the ground floor is where the breakfast is served.

stayed for a week with friends at this beautiful riad. Staff and management where really helpful- we were even met with a luggage barrow so did not get lost finding it. Very clean, superb fittings etc in just the right style for the property.Nothing was too much trouble for the staff- even drinks on the roof terrace were delivered with huge smiles. Trips were arranged, plus a cookery lesson to make those all important tagines etc. After staying here we would not stay outside the Medina if we return to Morocco- close to several good restaurants recommended by Alan- owner /manager.

Room Tip: Pick any- they are all individual, beautifully presented with excellent facilities.

Just had a delightful stay at this beautiful riad which is more of a luxurious home than a hotel, a peaceful retreat after the bustle of the town.
It has been tastefully restored and decorated
we were made most welcome by the management and staff all of whom were warm and friendly
making us feel at home from the moment we arrived until our sad departure.
We ate dinner a couple of times in el Zohar which were traditional Moroccan salads followed by hearty tagines so make sure you are hungry for the superb feast .Breakfast was a delight served at any time to suit us in the open courtyard alongside the pool, fresh fruit, yoghurt, pancakes breads and a selection of teas and coffees all freshly prepared to delight the most discerning guest.

Have just got back from our third visit to Mararrakech and this time we stayed at Riad El Zohar for 2 nights which we absolutely loved. It is well situated being about 5-10 mins walk from the Square. The riad was beautifully decorated in traditional Morrocan style, very pretty and very clean. There was a beautiful roof terrace with lots of places to sit and relax. The owners are Allan (English) and his wife, Mallika (French). We didn't meet Mallika as she was away at the time of our visit but Allan was absolutely charming and couldn't have been more helpful. We had mint tea and biscuits when we arrived and then shortly afterwards Allan took us out into the maze of surrounding streets and showed us the best way to walk to the square and pointed out landmarks to look out for so we didn't get lost. It didn't take us very long to find our way around although initially it looked complicated. Allan was a mine of useful information: places to eat and visit etc and there was a very comprehensive information folder in the room. Breakfast was served in the pretty courtyard: juice, bread, pancakes, jam, cake and fruit which was delicious. We didn't have other meals in the riad but can particularly recommend Maison MK for a special dinner
The riad was very good value and we had a wonderful and relaxing visit. We will definitely make a return visit

After looking at several riads in this price point we booked to stay at Riad El Zohar as it was recommended by a booking agency for it's personal service. The local staff are charming, friendly, welcoming and helpful. If you also happen to stay there when the English owner Allan and French Moroccan wife Malika are in residence (which I believe is very often the case) you will be treated to a service that knows no bounds. Allan will ensure that you have your bearings in the nearby maze of souks (and it is a maze!) and recommend places to visit/eat/drink etc. Mallika made a hamaan reservation for us and personally took us to the door so we didn't get lost. We enjoyed their company over a pot of tea by the fire in the salon later in the evenings (which are still a little chilly in March) and during a delicious home-cooked evening meal which was the best meal we had in Marrakech. The decor and furnishings are authentic and delightful - as beautiful as the photos on their website suggest. I guess this could be said of other riads but what also stood out to us was the AMAZING ROOF TOP TERRACE with several "separate" areas of loungers, sofas etc so that everyone can have privacy (although no other guests were on the terrace when we were). It was a relaxing place to enjoy a pot of tea after a day sight seeing. Great value for money.

On our first visit to Marrakech this beautiful, peaceful riad was the perfect place to rest our weary heads each day after exploring the city. The staff were welcoming, friendly and the food was outstanding. The evening meal we had there was delicious and very romantic, as we ate on the terrace which we had all to ourselves.

Our room was lovely, although not overly spacious. To be fair though, we did have the opportunity to move to a bigger room on our second day, but we didn't want to leave the rainfall shower, which was amazing!

Touria was incredibly helpful with anything we needed, an example being when we asked her for advice on the best way to buy a bus ticket to our next destination, and she arranged the whole thing. Great service!

Our only challenge was finding the riad on the first day, which I know is not uncommon in Marrakech! The roadworks made this extra difficult, and we unfortunately didn't get informed of this before we arrived. Once we did arrive however, we were greeted with a cold drink and a warm smile. A great riad right at the heart of Marrakech and I would recommend it.

We were recommended this Riad by friends who had stayed here twice, so we expected it to be good. What we got was much better than that - it was superb. As other reviewers have said, from the minute you arrive to when you leave Allan, Malika and their staff do everything they can to make your stay in the Riad and also in Marrakech, as wonderful as possible. We had a delicious meal on the evening of our arrival and enjoyed chatting to Allan and Malika like old friends. During our 3 day stay, help (and plenty of tea) was there whenever we asked for it. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and the setting is glorious. The location is superb (do not understand why the last reviewer gave this a poor score). All in all, a brilliant Riad and we would thoroughly recommend it.
