“Elegant spot, great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2009

Riad Eden is impeccably furnished. No detail is overlooked, right down to the rose petals on your pillow. The courtyard is a lovely spot to sit in the sun. The TV/reading room is another wonderful place to curl up with a book. We stayed in the Berber room, which was right on the courtyard, so it felt very public. It was also quite small. I'm sure the other rooms are bigger and out of public view. The owners, Emmanuel and Helene, are incredibly friendly and offered much helpful advice about not just Marrakech, but travels throughout Morocco. The other staff were equally nice to interact with. Highly recommended.

We stayed here for two nights. It was a nice little and cosy room to come back to each night, especially after experiencing Djemma el-Fna (which isn't too far away, less than 5 mins walk). Fairly easy to find after a few directions. The riad is well decorated and quite contemporary. We did enjoy it here but disappointed by our balcony and size of the room. Smaller than imagined. Our balcony overlooked the courtyard, but was ok in the end. Beautifully decorated with nice furnishings. Very unpleasant last night. The area was out of water and we hoped the staff would supply us with extra water to wash and flush. No compensation for that but understand it's not their fault there was no water! Just would have liked some aid. Staff are a bit grumpy, they cant speak english. The owner is lovely, friendly and very dedicated, and offers advice where possible. Roof terrace is fab! plenty of room to soak some sun! Nice area to eat and drink. Look out for the lovely little brave bird who likes to join you at breakfast time. He loves the bread! : )

We stayed for 3 nights at Riad Eden and really really enjoyed it. The owner, Emanuel, was brilliant. Very enthusiastic, full of great suggestions for things to do and places to eat. He made us feel very welcome and his 3 female Moroccan staff were excellent. He's obviously very passionate about food and the dinner was exceptional and very adventurous, compared to the regular dishes you find everywhere. The staff were very polite, very friendly and helpful with all our enquiries and requests.

The room was great, with lots of lovely touches in the decoration. We had the Chocolate room which smelt of chocolate too! Great shower, lots of hot water with lovely fluffy towels. The bed was very comfortable and it was pretty quiet at night, considering how close it was to the main square (about 5 min walk).

There was a little roof terrace where we had breakfast (which was delicious) and a higher section where you could sunbathe.

Overall highly recommended and we would definitely stay there again. Thanks Emanuel!

Thanks to Helene and Emmanuel, this Read was our best stay in Morocco.
Neither of them could do enough for you.
We stayed in the Orange room, where we were greeted with a very clean and tidy room with fresh orange blossoms on the bed. It's the small details that you remember.
All the staff were friendly, and the night porter makes great coffee.
As with most Riads, the Riad Eden is hidden down an ally, but was quite easy to find (although a sign outside the door would be helpful), after receiving instructions from the driver who collected us from the airport.
After we left the Riad, we went to Fes and back, but wanted to go into the Atlas Mountains. Due to a bus and taxi strike, we struggled to find transport. A quick phone call to Helene, and she got it all sorted. And we were not even staying at the Riad!!
If either Helene or Emmanuel read this, thank you for a wonderful time.

This riad is wonderful from the bottom up. Staff friendly and helpful. It is a short walk to the central area of all souks, restaurants, shopping and transportation in the old city. The riad has dinner available if you ask ahead. Breakfast if when you showup - very nice feature. Small complex (5 or 6 rooms) in 3 stories, safe with someone in the establishment 24/7. Owners are French, very helpful and go out of their way to be of assistance. You can arrange everything through the internet as Emmanual (one of the owners) is always checking his mail. All rooms have own bath and we had our own balcony.

Simple but really lovely place !!!
Emmanuel - the owner - is very kind and helped us a lot during our stay.
Clean, good position (few steps from Mellah and few meters from Djeema el Fna), everybody is warm and smiling, we felt at home ! Romantic by night with candles in every corner.
We really enjoyed our stay here !!!

We spent 5 memorable days at the Riad Eden in November. The Riad - its owners and staff - played a large part in making this a memorable experience. They demonstrated caring beyond measure. For example, when we arrived in Marrakech, we got lost. We called Emmanuel and his wife Helene, the young couple who own the Riad, on their cell phone. They happened to be in the Ville Nouvelle where we had ended up by accident,, and guided us to where they were waiting with warmth, humor and patience - much needed after a long and difficult drive over the High Atlas. They then: guided us to where we needed to drop off our rental car; magically managed to stash all of our luggage (we were 5 adults!) into their small van, a; drove us to the "bab" (gate) nearest the Riad; arranged for a porter to carry our bags to the Riad; and accompanied us to the Riad. We couldn't have done it without them.

Once you walk through the large wooden door of the Riad, leading into the courtyard, you enter a quiet, peaceful and charming inner sanctum, far removed from the bustle of the Medina.

We were with friends and had two comfortable, well designed and attractive rooms on the first floor overlooking the lovely inner courtyard. At the last minute our daughter decided to join us and when we requested an additional bed for our room, the response was "no problem". In fact we made several requests and this was always the response, and it was sincere. For example, our first night there, we suddently realized how tired we were and asked Emmanuel and Helene whether there was any way they could prepare dinner for us, despite the late hour. They said, with a smile "no problem". That night we ate a wonderfully prepared meal with good wine in the "Salon" a room we found cozy and that came to represent our home away from home.

This was the same room in which we ate a delicious breakfast every morning and in which we watched the US election returns with people from several other countries. When Obama won, we Americans celebrated with Belgians, Germans and Norwegians staying at the hotel, as well as the Moroccans and French who worked there. A wonderful experience.

Another example of the high level of service and caring: When our daughter was sick and had to stay in the Riad for most of the day, the lovely attentive staff, kept an eye on her and brought her tea and toast. We felt that she was completely safe and well cared for in their hands.

Whenever we needed a recommendation for a site, a hammam, a restaurant, etc., Emmanual and Helene were always well prepared and forthcoming. Their recommendation for the hammam, Les Bains de Marrakech, provided us with 4 luxurious hours we'll never forget.

The Riad is perfectly located - not far from the Jema el Fnaa, yet just enough off the larger Medina streets to afford some peace and quiet.

Marrakech came at the end of our trip, one that included a variety of diverse experiences (towns, countryside, desert, other cities, gorges and the High Atlas). We were a bit travel weary by the time we got there. The welcome we received at Riad Eden and the tranquility it offers, restored our energy and sense of adventure.

We grew very attached to the Riad, its owners, their baby, and the staff and intend to find an opportunity to return there as soon as we can.

We recommend Riad Eden very highly and hope that others will make it their home away from home as we did.
