“Great place to stay in the heart of the medina”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2014

My husband and I recently stayed in the Orange room at Riad Eden, and we loved our stay here. The Riad is beautifully decorated and conveniently located to many of the main sights of the Marrakesh medina. If you have not been to Marrakesh before, I highly recommend arranging an airport transfer directly to the riad (we did this just by emailing the owner), as it is tricky to find. Even though it is in the medina, the riad is quiet and relaxing. The breakfasts were delicious, too! The only small issue we encountered (and I saw this mentioned in another review), is that the credit card machine did not take our American credit cards, so we had to go to a cash machine to get cash for our stay. If you're traveling with American cards, I recommend getting cash to cover your stay, rather than relying on your credit card. Overall, I highly recommend Riad Eden, and would definitely stay there again on a return to Marrakesh.

Room Tip: The Orange room is on the 3rd floor, and is very quiet, with access to a rooftop terrace that was a...

We are now in the top floor of this beautifull riad. Is really nice and quiet. Good breakfast. Very helpfull and friendly staff. Excelent location, away from confusion of the city but less than five minuts walking to the main place. Rooms with nice morroco decoration and with AC. I will recomend to my friends.

My wife and I had an excellent experience at Riad Eden in Marrakech. We stayed three nights in a lovely, comfortable room on the ground floor, then after a sojourn to Essaouria, we returned for one night in the the beautiful and romantic "Chocolate Room" on the first floor. The decor of the entire guest house is esthetically tasteful, appointed with quite special examples of Moroccan antiques and lush local greenery in the central open courtyard which is also finished in wonderful Andalusian and Classical Islamic architectural detail and ceramic tile design. The rooftop terrace was an ideal spot to relax or take breakfast in the morning. These meals were begun with a delightful natural (homemade?) yogurt/fresh fruit container and followed by juice, coffee, hard boiled egg, crepes, cheese and baked goods. Satisfying!
The current proprietors are a friendly Frenchman and his lovely Moroccan bride, who were responsive to our needs and generous with advice for navigating the Medina. The staff were attentive. The air conditioning was welcome, and the WIFI worked well.
Riad Eden was a perfect starting point for our three week tour of the country. This Marrakech location offered a good experience in finding our bearings in this exotic and somewhat intimidating new setting. After initially worrying if we could find our way, we found the location to be ideally situated close enough to the main square and easy enough to recognize enough distinguishable street markers to stumble our way back successfully each time we ventured out!
One small extra bit of praise and recommendation for that "Chocolate Room": You might want to consider a splurge in this slightly higher priced option which has it's own little balcony and a dreamy elegant ambiance. When the usual (for this sweet Riad) practice of strewing rose petals around the room was thrown into the "Chocolate Room" it produced a honeymoon-suite-quality that warmed even our rather mature hearts.

Exciting rooms, excellent location, good breakfast, helpful people, what more can you say except for "Stay here!". It's in the middle of the labyrinths of the medina, but once found a tranquil heaven as compared to the busy life outside.

This riad was wonderful, though initially a bit hard to find. It is very nice and clean, breakfast is served daily and can be had on the upper terrace upon request. The rooms are nicely furnished and comfortable with air conditioning and internet access. Above all, the the best part of the riad is the location, close to the main square Jemaa el-Fna, which is large market by day with street performers and a collection of impromptu restaurants at night. Everything you need is close by tp the riad and unlike some other cities, shopkeepers here are not so pushy and friendly

My husband and I traveled to Marrakech recently and stayed in this riad for three nights. We were very pleased with our stay. The Lady of the Riad and her staff were very friendly and helpful with our needs as first time travelers to Morocco. The Riad itself is in a great location, we felt. Located very close to the souks, central square and taxi stand allowed us to walk almost everywhere or negotiate a cab (you negotiate the final price with the cab driver before you hop in) anytime we needed one. Yet it is still just off the main streets enough to escape the crazy traffic of the market. When we first arrived we were dropped off at the taxi stand and had no idea how to get to the Riad with the many narrow streets and few street signs. Fortunately, there is always a local who will direct you or walk to right to it, but they will ask for money in return. Always negotiate a lower price then what they ask.
The riad is beautifully decorated with authentic Moroccan decor. Fresh flowers and rose petals scattered throughout the lounge and our room added a little extra charm and warmth. It was very clean and quiet in the evenings. Chirping birds could be heard in the mornings but it was really a positive experience for our stay. (much more pleasant then vespas!)
Breakfast is included and is excellent! Hard boiled egg, yogurt, pastries, fresh OJ. We also had dinner here one evening. It was one of the best meals we had in Morocco. If you drink wine or beer, note that you CAN purchase a bottle or beer at this Riad. We did't realize this until the end of our trip and wished we would have know sooner!

Room Tip: Chocolate room well worth the few extra dollars especially if you plan to spend a little time in you...

Having stayed at Riad Eden several times in the past we booked the two ground floor rooms for a total of 5 nights when in and out of Marrakech. The riad and rooms are beautiful decorated, exceptionally clean and the addition of fresh rose petals scattered certainly made me feel like I was a princess during my stay.
The new host Jerome, his wife and their staff team are extremely welcoming, attentive and helpful. Jerome organised a porter and taxi for us when we left which we were very grateful for.
Breakfast on the terrace in the morning sunshine was plentiful and delicious. Great wi-fi
The riad is well located in the Medina, a beautiful tranquil haven from the craziness that is Marrekech. I wouldn't hesitate to book here again and again.

Room Tip: All the rooms are beautiful, the Berber room is the smallest but delightful. Pick any one you won...
