“A bit off location, but very comfortable rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2014

A nice hotel with very comfortable rooms with slightly cramped but good enough bathrooms
The location is not the best - a half-an-hour walk from Jemaa El Fnaa
The restaurant has a decent menu.
Overall very nice

This hotel is amazing... except for the lack of welcome from the reception staff:(
After 2 weeks in Morocco and 5 hotels, Hotel Le Caspien has the BEST facilities of all. Just a shame when the 'first impression' via reception is poor. The restaurant staff have been warm and professional, my meal was excellent, the room is clean and well fitted-out. If the welcome was a bit warmer and a little more accommodating I expect that the rating for Hotel Le Caspien could be closer to #1 than it is now.

My daughter and I stayed here on a recent visit to the city. The staff were welcoming, attentive and very friendly. The hotel is is clean and comfortable and very pleasantly decorated. The food is excellent and very reasonably priced. The downsides for us were the lack of card paying facilities, which despite being advertised we were told they had no signal to use the card machine and were therefore forced to go to the local bank to withdraw money. The swimming pool is very small and we never saw anyone use it throughout our stay, plus it only gets the sun for the morning. That said if you want to do a spot of sunbathing whilst there the sky bar is great. The last thing is the wi-fi,which is very hit and miss, not a problem if you don't need it but the member of staff we asked about shrugged and told us 'everyone is having the same problem' when asked why it wasn't working. Incidentally this was the same member of staff who told us the card machine wasn't working and possibly the only unhelpful member of staff out of an otherwise helpful staff team. However don't let this put you off because despite this I would recommend this hotel, particularly if you a looking for somewhere a little outside of the centre but within easy reach of everywhere. Taxi's to the centre are freely available and very cheap. Plus you can haggle over the price,we got it cheaper than the asking price every time.

Great hotel - very close to all the wonderful attractions. Delicious food - I would recommend the pizza and pasta dishes. Fun live music at night times. Tidy rooms. Comfortable pillows. Delightful little pool to cool off in at the end of a long day site seeing. Very friendly staff.

Myself and a friend stayed here for 7 days and had a fantastic time. Our room was lovely and was cleaned every day which we were pleased with.
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, although one member of staff joked that there was no mint tea for us and only beer' which we didn't like and found a little offensive as he tried to suggest that we british only drink beer. I was a little annoyed at this (especially being half muslim and not much of A drinker) but apart from that, the rest of the staff were fantastic and pleasant.
Th staff always helped us with direction and booking taxis. We went on the Sahara desert trip, the beach, and visited all the sites in Marrakech. It was alwaays lovely to come back to our nice hotel, which served a nice breakfast and the evening meals were also lovely.
definitely recommend this place-- 5 min taxi drive to centre or bus rides ... Bus ride is 4 dirhams and taxi between 30-50 dirhams... Do not pay any more than 100 dirhams when transferring from airport to hotel! When travelling back to airport, taxi will be cheaper- aapprox 60dirhams.

We had a good evening meal here - a big party of adults and kids. Recommend the beef tagine with apricots. Some nice Moroccan wine, too. Modern, white table cloths, spot lighting.....and a pianist! Could have done with air con, though. 40c at the time, and got very hot!

We were not staying in the hotel.

We booked this hotel through Easyjet holidays so did not know what to expect. We stayed for seven nights. Clean comfortable room overlooking the pool. Pool area is very small and within the restaurant with only two loungers. There is a more private roof terrace for sunbathing but again only two loungers.

Buffet breakfast was fine. Restaurant nice, on the expensive side for Marrakech.

Within walking distance of shops and restaurants of Gueliz and the Jardin Majorelle. A short taxi ride to the Medina (10MAD during the day 20MAD at night). Possible to walk but always too hot for us!

Staff not particularly helpful unless using hotel facilities. e.g. had to pay to use the reception phone to book a different restaurant. Did not give accurate prices of taxis if they offered a shuttle service (e.g. la palmerie) and will not help confirm airport transfers if not using there services.

We did book an excursion (25 EUR pp) to the cascade d'ouzoud (highly recommend a visit). The excursion included the journey only and not a guide. Confronted with additional costs on arrival, we refused to pay more and enjoyed the day without a guide.
