“Riad lena is beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2007

Well what can i say... Riad lena is a beautiful, peaceful, relaxing place to stay. This little morrocan house is the perfect escape from the busy surrounding area. There are two floors of rooms and the top floor is a sun terrace where you enjoy your breakfast every morning!
When i first arrived in marrakesh, the riads own taxi man picked us up with no trouble and we arrived at the riad within half an hour of landing off the plane. When we got out of the taxi you do get a rather big culture shock, the riad is right in the centre of all the little streets of the medina and the souks, its a very overwhelming experience at first if you have never been to a place like this, as it was for me.
When you step into the riad it is such a relief to have some peace away from the busy streets and freindly and very very helpful staff greet you with a very warm welcome. We were given a very welcome morrocan tea as soon as we arrived. The rooms we stayed in was on the 2nd floor and really adds to the experience of staying in morroco, they are all themed rooms which all have different colours. We had warm running water every morning and breakfast was different every day. We stayed for 4 nights and the breakfast was delicious.
I would suggest that if you are going to morroco that you brush up on your french as this is the main language, but in the riad there are staff who speak atleast 6 different languages.
The beds are made every morning without fail and the whole house is very secure. if you are looking for a real authentic little morrocan escape I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Absolutely outstanding!!

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights at Riad Lena in mid July. Perfectly located in the old city close to the Medina and everything that is worth visiting in Marrakech. Entering the Riad it is quite a relief to escape from the dusty, hot and often crazy maze like alleys of the old city. The rooms are comfortable, clean, beautifully decorated AND airconditioned -although the power in that part of the city did go off for 2 out of the 3 days which meant no airconditioning or cold water for the most part - that said though there is a beautiful, and larger than it appears, pool to dip into to cool down. The staff are lovely and speak English as well as French. The riad is quiet and peaceful, the perfect place to get away to relax.
