5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2011

At Ryad Al Moussika we had wonderful stay: excellent service, beautiful location, all the staff was friendly and willing to help, they made our holiday superb and relaxing. Lovely and clean accomodation, the cooking was excellent and accurate. Every little thing satified our needs and I recommend this fabulous Ryad to all the people that want to spend an unforgettable stay in Marrakech!

Jewel in the heart of medina. Excellent location, facilities and service. Near the square and within walking distance of all key sites. Beautiful layout with courtyards, swimming pool and clean spacious rooms which offer the luxury of any top class hotel. Hassan (manager) and his staff: Safae, Badr, Kamal, Lehsan and Abdel Kadr made us truly welcome and took us into their family. They were extremely helpful, cheerful and always had a smile on their face. In fact we have already adopted Safae as our daughter!! In fact the owner of the Riad is very lucky to have such dedicated staff. Breakfasts were wonderful and we especially enjoyed the Crepes and in fact one of the kitchen staff actually gave me a lesson on how to make them! We have no hesitation in recommending this brilliant Riad.
There is only one minor negative - because we had left it late to book, we were offered the Junior Room for the first 4 nights which we found was too small for a couple and the bed wasn't very comfortable. However the Suite Deluxe Al Akhdar which we had for the next 3 days was absolutely beautiful with a fantastic shower. If we ever went back to Marrakech, we would definitely choose this Riad and try and get the Blue Room!!

Room Tip: Try and get one of the two Suites

My husband and myself stayed at this most beautiful Riyad in July. We had travelled 580k's from Fes to Marrakech and were extremely happy to arrive at such a beautiful oasis. Safae one of the staff greeted us and made us feel at home for the next 3 days. All staff were fantastic and the service amazing. We had a beautiful meal here on the first night of our stay.

A lovely Riad situated within easy walking distance of the main square and the Bahia Palace . When we arrived we were told we should treat this as "a home away from home", it's a bold promise but the service lived up to it. The staff are absolutely lovely and even if the Riad wasn't top-notch the service alone would make it worth a visit.

We stayed in a comfy double room, which was indeed comfy. Spacious and a fabulous view over the pool and courtyard. We had a sneaky peak at the other rooms, both suites are stunning. Included in the price is a very hearty and delicious breakfast, with ingredients sourced from their own farms. Wi-Fi is free and for anyone who needs to stay in touch with work or the world outside it's very useful. The Haman was a highlight, if you can spare the time and money on your first day to enjoy the full experience do. You come out completely relaxed and as clean as a whistle. Afternoon tea is also delicious and there if required. One word of warnnig, all the food is delicious so if you're looking to watch your waist line beware!

Room Tip: We stayed in a comfy double room, which was indeed comfy. Spacious and a fabulous view over the pool...

We booked the riyad whilst on holiday in another part of Morocco and from the moment I enquired about the room the staff were very helpful, friendly and efficient.
Once we arrived at the riyad we were greeted by Hassan, he was the perfect host, welcoming us with traditional Moroccan mint tea and homemade pastries (you could order these as many times as you like during your stay). Hassan also made sure that when we went off to explore we had iced cold bottled water, an excellent map and contact telephone numbers in case we got lost! The location of the riyad is great, just a short walk from the busy Djemaa el Fna.
Hassan showed us around and it was clear that we had booked the most exceptional accommodation for our stay in Marrakesh. I have always wanted to stay in a riyad and Riyad Al Moussika was everything that imagined it would be. The riyad had a tranquil pool and fountain, orange trees, sunny patios, long cool corridors, beautiful mosaic floors and exquisitely painted cedarwood ceilings. As Hassan showed us around he eloquently talked to us about the artwork, furniture and rugs that have been so carefully chosen to decorate the riyad. You must look at the photographs as they will do the accommodation much more justice than these words, but what the pictures can’t show, which makes it even more perfect is the tranquil sound of birdsong.
We stayed in the double comfort room off the library and it was truly splendid. The room was beautifully decorated with a fantastic bathroom and our own balcony overlooking one of the three patios.
The food wasn’t a disappointment either, Pepenero the riyad restaurant (open to the public in the evening), is a fantastic place to eat. The menu has Moroccan and Italian food choices, all of the dishes we ate were delicious, especially the harira soup, pigeon pastilla and the homemade pasta. Breakfast was equally as perfect mix of Moroccan and Italian delights. We were treated to homemade yoghurt, fresh fruit, freshly baked pastries, traditional Moroccan crepes, orange juice, honey and marmalade from the owner’s farm and Italian coffee. All served to us on the warm sunny courtyard by very friendly staff.
I can’t praise this accommodation enough, it is perfect and I hope to return for a longer visit soon.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Riad Al Moussika - For comfort, style and refinement. THE Riad experience in Marrakech! Situated in the ancient medina of Marrakech, five minutes walk from place Jemaa El Fna, the Riyad was once one of the residences of the former Pasha of Marrakech, Thami El Glaoui, and has been refurbished to a very high standard in the Andalucian style. One of the gates of Riyad Al Moussika opens on to a garden with old cypress trees soaring to the sky, a huge bougainvillea climbing across the pergolas, a swimming pool, in the centre or, more precisely, an Andalucian basin thirteen meters long, tiled with a mosaic carpet design. Here water falls from a white Carrara marble fountain to the songs of numerous small birds creating an idyllic scenario, in spite of being in the heart of central medina. A fireplace gives the winter evenings a cosy atmosphere, as do the impressive modern paintings, carpets, sofas and armchairs. There is a hi-fi system and an art deco Pleyel grand piano perfectly tuned for the pleasure of the guests. The Turkish bath or hammam in white marble with a relax room where, on request, a professional masseur can take care of the guests. There is a unique view of the medina and the Atlas Mountains from the two terraces that are sheltered partially with wooden pergolas and surrounded by large terracotta flower vases. Tables, comfortable armchairs with cushions and teak chaises-long allow guests to request breakfast and candle lit dinner, as well as to sunbathe during the day. On one of the terraces there is a pavilion with Moroccan sofas, cushions and lamps should some of the guests prefer a more intimate space. The resident Chef, Grand Diploma Cordon Bleu, has devoted his life to gastronomy and invites lovers of fine dining to experience his repertoire of Moroccan, Italian and French cuisine at the haute Cuisine riyad's Restaurant PEPE NERO. There are 4 double bedrooms, all with en-suite bathroom. All rooms have air-conditioning / heating system, telephone with external line, television with the major satellite channels (BBC, CNN etc.), Internet wireless connection is available and DVD in the music room. ... more   less
