“This Hostel has GIANT waterbugs”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2012

HI everyone,

After staying in a beautful hotel at around the same price as this hostel, We stayed at equity point. It is easy to find in this maze of a city and its close to all of the small shops. Bus station etc. However, unless you like giant pre historic waterbugs crawling up your walls at night and up your shower stay at another hostel. DISGUSTING!

good luck!

Room Tip: don't stay here.

“Bed Bugs”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

after changing our room due to a strange sewage smell coming from the bathroom, we were put in a room across the pool. We fell asleep and in the middle of the night my friend woke up from itching herself so much, we turned on the lights and she was covered with bites. After looking in the bed we discovered her bed infested with bed bugs. We immediately told the guy at the front desk and he put us in another room...though it ruined our experience. My friend had to boil her clothes and try to attempt to sleep on our trip every night following that one because she was so disturbed by the fact that she may take these parasites will her home. I would strongly suggest to anyone staying there to check their beds the second upon arrival. The guy at the front desk told us that they get complaints about this all the time due to the people traveling back from the desert. YIKES!!!!

“Keep your receipt!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

Positives: The rooms were a great size, clean and tidy. The hostel had lots of character and plenty of common space to spend time, meet other travellers etc. It is tricky to find but really close to the souks and main square. The pool was nice if a little chilly. Good value for money.

Negatives: They tried to double charge us so keep your receipt. We'd paid on the first day to one member of staff but when checking out they tried to say we'd only paid for 1 night not three. Fortunately I'd kept my credit card receipt so it was resolved easily but it seemed a bit suspicious. This could have been an honest mistake but I heard other people having similar problems in the lobby. In addtion to this I asked them to contact the operator of the tour I had pre-booked to check the time we were being collected. They rang the wrong number and then tried to sell us another tour (presumably for their own commission). One other little thing was the fact the restaurant/cafe kept running out of food. We arrived late from the airport and they had run out of water and most of the menu so we had to naigate through the maze of the medina to buy water late at night and ate plates of tomatoes as that was all they had left! The breakfast was late (they told us from 8am but it was 8.30 before they started serving) and ran out one morning before my friends got anything to eat. They ran out of beer on another night so don't rely on the hostel for refreshments. Oh and I had to kill a cockroach in the bathroom one morning-not the hostel owner's fault but a warning!

“Great place to stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2012

I chose this "hostel" after reading the good reviews on Tripadvisor and I was really delighted to spend there 24 hours.
My friends who came with me couldn't believe it's possible to find such a nice hotel in the heart of Marrakech at such a cheap price ;)
We shared a bedroom for 4 people, it was clean and nice.
The hotel is beautiful, with a small pool in the court, a lot of nice common areas and a wonderful terrace on the top.
I suggest trying the tasty couscous in the restaurant on the terrace!
Internet connection available for free, breakfast buffet included in the price of the room.
The owner is very friendly such as the staff.
I definitly reccomend it ;)

“Great experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2012

The directions were very precise, which you will need it is still a long walk on a very hot day. The cafe you need to look for is being remodeled so look for the large building covered with a picture on the front. Everyone in the Medina spoke English & knew the cafe. The day staff was great, night staff too busy on internet to care.Watched the night clerk go through lost & found & give the restaurant owner anything she wanted before guests had a chance to miss items. The rooms were nice, air-con worked fine, water pressure was terrible & mostly a dribble. Felt completely safe. The pool wasn't filtering correctly & was cloudy the 1st day by the 2nd day it was turning green. The manager extremely nice & helpful & was trying to get the pool fixed. Internet was not available in the rooms. Food at the restaurant on top was tasty & good value, beer was cold. Grocery store is a 10 min taxi ride & alcohol stops selling at 8pm. We would stay there again.Quite location
