“Fantastic Hotel in a Great Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 weeks ago

This hotel is in a great area of Marrakech in 'Hivernage' next door to trendy Louis Vitton etc
Loads to see in Marrakech - Gardens - Markets - Snake Charmers - Camels - Great Food - Great Weather (Can be really hot) bring your factor 50!
The Hotel was of an excellent standard, Modern LED TV in the room was a surprise, Food in the hotel was top notch and the views from the rooftop terrace outstanding.
Tip - Haggle on price - walk away and it will half!

really warm feeling throughout the hotel - from people cleaning the rooms to reception - ate in restaurant at hotel first night and it was just about okay (a little aggressive on making sure they served the water!!) but we found morning breakfast was best at cafe attached to hotel rather than in hotel itself at highly hiked up price) - clean and while it took us a while to learn how to adjust heating in the room it was very comfortable - wifi very dicey -- never really worked in the room

Room Tip: high up is best but no internet service to speak of

I've read a lot of really mixed reviews for this place so hopefully I can clear up a few things.

The staff were actually very polite; we were greeted by every staff member we met and served courteously in the bar and restaurant.

The rooms are nice, with enormous beds and decent, clean bathrooms. I think some DIY may be in order as some of the other rooms in which members of our large party stayed had various issues like leaks, falling shower rails and a poorly mounted keycard slot, but nothing dangerous and all complaints of this nature were dealt with quickly.

We didn't eat dinner in the restaurant but breakfast was fantastic with a huge range of local and more European options, including croissants, jam, toast, and various hot options.

The roof terrace was fantastic, with its own bar, patio heaters for chilly evenings and plenty of seating to go with the panoramic view. If I had one suggested improvement it would be for some loungers on the roof, as the pool area doesn't seem to get much sun.

I didn't use the gym but was told by my friend that it was reasonably well equipped, but she did find she had to request it to be opened around 8am even though I believe the hotel documentation states it opens at 6am.

The wi-fi is hit and miss; some rooms have an excellent signal while some others are lacking. I could pick up a bar or two if I sat on the corner of my bed nearest the door, but unfortunately none at anywhere else in the room.

The location is great, within walking distance of both the souk and the new town, and within a couple of minutes of several restaurants.

I couldn't honestly say this was the best hotel experience I could have had in Marrakech but I think you could do much worse. Given the opportunity I wouldn't refuse to stay again.

Good location close to Medina in good area. Nice rooftop terrace which was being renovated while we were there so no service but good views over Marrakech and the High Atlas. Room fine (202) not huge but adequate with small balcony. Bathroom has bath and great pressure on the shower and an outstanding (for Morocco) selection of bathroom lotions. TV has good selection of English language channels and there is wifi in the room and it had a small balcony.
We ate in the dining room which had a good selection of well cooked food and a reasonable wine list – service was attentive and the pricing (remembering this is Marrakesh) again reasonable. Good choice of place to stay in Marrakesh. A number of reviews commented on unhelpful staff but this was not my experience at all.

Room Tip: The hotel is wedge shaped with roads to either side - the higher the better probably

The hotel itself is fairly pleasant not particularly brilliant but perfectly adequate, the room we had on the 6th floor was comfortable, with a balcony offering great views of the city. What really lets the hotel down is the attitude of the staff. Unfortunately as a collective they could not have been less interested in the patrons of the hotel if they tried. Booking a taxi, requesting a bottle of water for the room, making reservations or asking for information about the spa are not elaborate asks but each were greeted with disdain, rudeness and arrogance. In short, pleasant hotel, great location awful staff.

Room Tip: 6th floor rooms are the only ones with balconys

We had read the reviews about the "unfriendly" staff prior to leaving the UK. On arrival we were greeted courteously and upgraded to a romm with a Hammam. The staff were very friendly but some training might not have gone amiss. (We stayed 30th April - 7th May 2014). The breakfasts were excellent. The situation of the hotel was very good with a pleasnt walk to all of the main attractions and the souk.

Firstly the location of the hotel could not have been better! Located on a very quiet street (very rare in Marrakech!) within easy walking distance to the old town & new town, souks, night market and probably the only supermarket in the city.
The staff were brilliant and friendly, extremely helpful and informative - everyone we spoke to could speak English perfectly. They arranged a 4x4 for me to hire for a day trip to the Atlas Mountains on very short notice.
The breakfast was brilliant with a huge variety of things: breads, jams, pastries, cakes, muffins, fruits, cereals, pancakes, muffins, omelet, cheeses, ham, hot meats, potatoes etc aswell as local hot foods, and in a endless supply!!
The facility's were super aswel- including a surprisingly well equipped gym and steam rooms (no charge) my girlfriend had a massage in the spa which she loved. There is also a bar which serves alcohol and some tasty cocktails!
The roof bar is a brilliant addition for those lazy lounging moments in the sun with brilliant 360 views including the impressive snow covered Atlas Mountains which are a must do!!
Also there is a bureau de change attached to the hotel which is obviously very helpful.
Our room was also faultless with a large TV - which showed English movies most nights, a HUGE bed and very large bathroom. I am shocked to read that some people felt different, if in dowt get room 403 coz we loved it!
Basically the hotel was perfect and the staff were brilliant, the country is also beautiful and most things are in walking distance which is the best way to get around- (I was surprised at how easy and hassle free it was-despite myself and my girlfriend being young blonde and a solid 8/10 for looks ha!)

I have already persuaded my friend to go with his girlfriend just through the pics we took, and in the future I hope to return to Marrakech and I will 100% be going back here!

Room Tip: 403- was spot on!!
