Owner description: This is a beautiful mosque. Remember to remove your shoes before entering, as it is an important Islamic tradition that preserves the sanctity of the mosque. However, you are not allowed to enter as a non-Muslim, so respect that rule or you might run in to some real problems with the community.

“A pretty mosque in an interesting area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2013

Beautiful minaret and adjacent to the very interesting Saadian Tombs. Non-moslems cannot enter the mosque but the surrounding area is well worth a visit, as are the tombs.

“Mosque of El-Mansour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2012

Not to be confused with the Koutoubia minaret. Kasbah Mosque is next to the Saadien tombs and the minaret is identifiable with its turquoise lining. This construction is contemporary to the Koutoubia mosque but was rebuilt in the sixteenth century. Only Muslims are allowed to enter inside the mosque..

“MAKE SURE YOU VISIT”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012

I expect the Kasbah is often missed by travellers to Marrakesh as the main square (Jamaa El Fna) gets all the press. Well, don't get fooled as whilst it hasn't as much to offer, it's still a great place to visit and once you've experienced the main street, which is full of food stalls, smoke and food smells, you can visit the place of 1001 spices, the Saadian tombs or the mosque. Also on the main street is the biggest souvenir shop your likely to find, it's literally packed roof to ceiling with stuff and NO BARTERING. It's a welcome relief from haggling for everthing from your cab trip to asking directions!

“Fantastic architecture - let down by poor management”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2012 via mobile

The Kasbah Mosque is an amazing building to take in from the outside. As best we could see you couldn't go in and tour. Surprisingly for a holy building there was a lot of litter piled in the areas surrounding it. Some of the majesty was lost as you took in the garbage and people peeing against the walls!

The Kasbah Mosque was breathtaking. Modelled very closely on the Koutobia Minaret.
