“Beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2014

We stayed here last November: 2 adults and 3 teenagers. The taxi drive from the airport was an experience for first time visitors to Marrakech, and as the taxi driver got lost, we found ourselves immersed in the mayhem of Marrakech immediately. It had been a bit of a gruelling journey, starting in the middle of the night and we were tired, thirsty, hungry and a bit bewildered by what we were experiencing. Finally, the taxi stopped in a pretty busy and chaotic market area, and a very well dressed, well groomed man appeared, and led us down some pink alleys, into the Riad.

As soon as we stepped through the door we ceased to be careworn. A sense of calm and relaxation almost overwhelmed us, and we were led to a cosy sitting are by the pool where we made friends with a fat cat, whilst being served incredible mint tea…..and that's how it was through our stay, returning from the maelstrom of the city, the like of which I have never experienced, but loved, was like stepping through the looking glass.

Utter peace, utter calm.

The rooms were well furnished and very comfortable and, throughout the Riad, which is much larger than it appears, there were numerous wonderful nooks and crannies where you could chill out with a mint tea, which is addictive, and a book, or just nod gently off. The roof is amazing, plenty of sitting areas and the various views across the wonderful skyline, which change with the light through the day, is something to treasure and remember.

The staff were great, not in yer face friendly (thank God) but available, welcoming and polite. The breakfast by the pool was a major and significant event, the setting itself is beautiful, and they set the table wonderfully. The food was a mixture of the prosaic and the profound and there was plenty of it…….more than plenty.

I wish I could go back every weekend.

Room Tip: Ignore the one star for childrens activities, clicked that by mistake and can't delete it.

This is truly an oasis of calm after walking the frenetic streets of Marrakech.
It is walkable (take a map from the management) to central square and just remember sequence of turns in the alleyway to riad (we knocked on the wrong door a couple of times).
The rooms are very individual and beautifully furnished - there was a door between bathroom and bedroom in our room which was on the ground floor next to pool.
Didn't have any problems with the plumbing, but these are old buildings so some allowance has to be made.
The managers did everything they could to make us welcome but in a totally unintrusive manner.
Can't comment on price as it was part of a three location trip organised by Lawrence of Morroco.
We did eat dinner at the riad on both nights we stayed and this was exceptional - a truly romantic occasion beside the pool in the courtyard.
The tagines were the best meals we had in Morocco as they were individually cooked for us as we were the only guests eating in. Price was 300 Dr each and excellent value.
Would not hesitate to recommend this riad.

We travelled with 4 other couples and couldn't have been made more welcome. We all had very pleasant traditionally-styled rooms facing the central courtyard and pool, where we ate breakfast and had two excellent evening meals. Both food and wine were local and very good. This riad is well-placed for the old town, though we were initially surprised by its location at the end of a small alleyway. Not a problem and commonplace, we found! The riad was spotless and the staff really helpful. There are several beautiful lounges and a tranquil roof garden. The plumbing was occasionally temperamental but nothing to detract from my 5 star rating.

What a fabulous find, the Riad is packed full of character, a tranquil jewel nestled away from the vibrant hustle and bustle of the streets. I've stayed in plenty of 5 star hotels all but Les Yeux Bleus blows them all away. We stayed 3 nights and are planning to revisit soon. The hot water was a little unreliable but it didn't detract from the enjoyment of our stay. Can't recommend enough!

My wife and I, together with one of our daughters had a three-night stay here in July 2013. The riad is a beautiful oasis of calm. The rooms are lovely, the staff polite and welcoming and the food delicious. We had a wonderfully relaxing stay and certainly hope to return.

We stayed a total of 4 nights at Les Yeux Bleus in June. This riad is serene and peaceful with beautifully appointed public rooms and guest rooms, no generic hotel furnishings here and no hotel night life aside from reading and quiet conversation. Both single and double rooms were small but certainly comfortable and adequate in terms of space. Beautiful tiled bathrooms do not have doors which was just something to get used to for us Americans.
Breakfast each morning was local bread with jam made of local fruit, freshly squeezed local orange juice and delicious cafe au lait with or without eggs. The staff was so helpful and friendly, very professional and accomodating.
We had one dinner at Les Yeux Bleus which was very good, but a bit expensive.
Cafe Arabe just a block away has a gorgeous outdoor dining room with very good food. We stopped into their bar one evening as we were early for our diner reservation. What a treat! A delightful maitre d and talented pianist entertained us while we had drinks.
Les Yeux Bleus is about a 15 minute walk to the souks and other interesting sites which makes it very convenient. I can't think of a more perfect place to stay in Marrakech.
Speaking French, while not essential, is VERY helpful!

My friend and I stayed for 5 days at Les Yeux Bleus. It is truly a beautiful peaceful haven away from all the hustle and bustle going on outside. Perfectly located on the edge of the medina and just a short walk to Jamaa El-Fna and from there the souks! The rooms aren't huge but are beautifully decorated, comfortable and spotlessly clean. There is a central courtyard with a very cold pool which was perfect for hanging feet in after a hard mornings walk whilst drinking mint tea! The sun terrace was perfect! The management staff were friendly and helpful and booked restaurants and a trip to the Atlas Mountains for us. This trip was slightly disappointing, although I wasn't sure what to expect! If you want to buy a kaftan, at a fair price without haggling try NAAMA YOUSSEF at 242 Souk Bab Doukkala. (GSM 021271158512), just round the corner. Mine is lovely and was altered free of charge! All in all a great place to stay where I wouldn't hesitate recommending to anyone
