“Perfect retreat from the mayhem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013

I stayed here, on and off, for three weeks. The staff are very friendly and helpful indeed. The lovely building has been charmingly decorated, the roof terrace is a lovely oasis and breakfast is delicious.

clean and tranquil hidden gem in the middle of Marrakesh where the temp of life drains you out after the first hour! cool rooms, really authentic and originally-decorated!!! great service! the air conditioner in the first room was not working when we first moved in. as soon as we said this we were given another room. really nice breakfast as well!!! cold water and refreshing mint tea are given when you first step in to the riad! great hospitality i must say!!!! the guy that works there was going out of his way to satisfy everyone. after breakfast we would go for a cigarette where the beds are on the roof. the next thing you know is him running after you bringing you clean sunbed covers, ashtrays and cushions! it`s a shame we didn`t know any French and he - English! we`d love to talk to him! he seemed so positive and smiley! :) definitely recommend!

Good location if travelling by car - close to the medina but not in it. Like many dars and riads, not much to look at from the outside but a haven of cool & calm inside with nice rooms around small open courtyard. On my last visit, I thought the staff could smile more; some of the traditional Berber hospitality seem to have been lost here.

My boyfriend and I stayed for 3 nights in October last year and it was a really lovely place. The location was great for getting into the main square, the room was beautiful and plenty big enough. the service was with a smile and very helpful regarding local knowledge. The breakfast was served on the roof top terrace, and was very tasty. I would highly recommend. Great value.

We were rather pessimistic about our trip to the Riad dar Atta having found a really cheap deal on KGB Destinations. However we were pleasantly surprised - the Riad was gorgeous inside, nice rooms (although we had issues with our shower constantly being freezing cold so the maintenance man made almost daily trips to our room!), and great breakfast. The best thing though is the location - 5/10 min walk to the main square. Marrakech is so beautiful so I would recommend the city and this Riad to anyone.

This humble, very clean and nicely appointed riad is a great find. The manager, Hassin and his staff are so nice and very accommodating. They have a hammam that my son really enjoyed. Simple breakfast every morning was just enough to start the day. Our only complaint was that it was a bit noisy at night while we were there because they were having some work done and it was way to hot to do that during the day. Get ready for the rooster as well who starts at about 3 am and finishes about the time you need to get on your way for the day. Don't under estimate the street location so you don't have to drag luggage down the alleys - also convenient for taxis etc. A great value.

Room Tip: We had the delux suite which gave us room to relax. Great bathroom, sunny and AC!

We stayed for 4 nights at the end of November.
Things we liked -
1. Andy and the rest of the staff - all very friendly and happy to chat and give tips of what to do. Offered us use of their internet and booked excursions for us. We didn't even mind being woken up by guitar and singing late at night because it was all part of the atmosphere and made me feel like I was on my gap year again (and thus 20 years younger!)
2. the homemade coffee - bought 1kg and it tastes good even when drinking outside of Morocco.
3. the location - easy walk to main square, attractions etc
4. breakfast - although after 4 days we were ready for a change
5. day trip arranged through Splash Morocco to a Berber house, wobbly bridge, herb farm/shop, trek to waterfall, restaurant and including a camel ride. Great day out of the city.

Not so good
1. decor - is all a bit tired, although the mice seemed to like it. rooms were ok, clean but basic. towells were rough.
2. costs - £20 from airport feels like we were being taken advantage of not knowing it is less than a 10 minute journey. £10 back to airport is still on the high side compared to taxis and when the driver also went in to pick someone else up...£30 for a 20 min round trip...!
3. carpet shop on the day trip - could do without stopping here as it was quite a "salesy" place and the only time where we felt pressurised.

Overall this accomodation is "good" but made very good by the friendly staff..
