“No Thank you”

10/10 to the professional photographer who took the promotional photos of Riad Dar Atta, as the reality is nothing like them. We found it to be very tired and dirty. The bathrobe, towels and bed linen were of a very poor standard, with stains and tears. Many facilities in the room did not work, and this was normal. We had the "Grand Suite" and paid £140 extra for not much extra. The riad was like hostel accommodation and the KGB "deal" of 73% off was in fact what the riad should be, although you can find many better riads and hotels far cheaper.

The Riad is beautiful, centrally located, clean with big rooms and an amazing roof terrace - it's not any of this that makes the place though - it's the delicious coffee at breakfast time and the staff, who, without exception are helpful, attentive, polite and very friendly.

Our only regret was not staying longer.

Do go on the day trip to the Atlas mountains. Don't stay up the night before trying to drink at the same rate as two Scottish boys.

We booked this as part of a KGB offer, meaning that it was £99 for 3 nights. For the money we can't complain but if we had paid full price we would definitely not have been particularly plesed. In all it was a bit of a mixed bag.

We liked:
Friendly manager (Andy)
Large rooms
Very close to the square
Our room was air conditioned (not all are)

We didn't like:
VERY scratchy towels and robes - fabric softener would have helped
Shabby and stained linens, cushion covers
Nowhere at the riad to get even some water
Surprise £40 charge for airport transport sprung on us 5 minutes before we left
Sullen staff at breakfast

They specialise here in 'adventure' trips, white water rafting etc. and there is definitley a hostel feel to the place. If I go back to Marrakech I will be paying a little more for a nicer experience but as I say, for the price it was ok.

Room Tip: If you are there in the heat of summer make sure to get a room with aircon

My partner and I stayed at Dar Atta for a long weekend in August. The team are just so friendly and helpful, they gave us great impartial advice on trips to do, places to eat and drink and things to check out! The place was great, clean, tidy and good location for exploring. Its also a very sociable place, we enjoyed time on the roof terrace with some of the other guests. Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to explore Marrakech, whether you are solo, couple or friends this place will make your trip!

Thank you Andy and team for a wicked experience and the great hospitality!

My boyfriend and I cam here for a week stay and absolutely loved it. We arrived in the morning and it was a friendly laid back greeting. our room was big with air con and bathroom. it was simple and was cleaned every day. the whole week was chilled, and the riad was def what we needed after a busy day in the hot sun. breakfast was delicious every day and the staff are very friendly. Joe and the rest of the guys were helpful and always knew somewhere good to go.

Will definately be back and cannot recommend enough! Also def use the hammam there...and get a massage. definately the best way to start the holiday.

My husband and I just returned after a short break. The hotel us very simple but cosy, felt like being on your own home. Very peaceful and relaxing. Decor was traditional and the Manager Jo was very friendly and helpful. This is an ideal hotel for those seeking a central location in Marrakech and wish to explore the area. The hotel Aldo organize trips which takes out the stress of dealing with tour operators on the street. We booked transfers from uk and they were very punctual and professional. The hotel is also a short walk to new town
Guillez (15 minutes stroll).

Breakfast was simple but filling with fresh juice, tea/coffee, crepes, bread.

Great location only a few minutes walk to Djemaa El Fna, and all the souks.
The staff were very helpful and friendly.
We stayed in the junior suite which had a lovely outside area, and good
airconditioning. Good breakfast, moroccan pancacks, fresh juice, bread, coffee etc.
Would definitely recommend.
