“Great hotel and fantastic location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2009

Me and my girlfriend had a fantastic week in Jnane mogador, great service and really the best location in Marrakech. The hotel is located in a small and quiet street which is only a 30 seconds walk from the busy Jemaâ El Fna. If you want a nice week but you don’t want to spent a lot of money on your hotel, this is the place to be!! The rooms aren't very soundproof but that's the only min point.

Place was average. Beds appeared to be clean enough, and the rooms were small, but expected that. For the price, it was okay and didn't expect anything more than what I got. I found the staff to be friendly enough, but definitely would put this place more on par with a motel rather than a full service hotel.

Washrooms were okay, and they did have hot water. The rooftop was a nice retreat, as the courtyard was a bit small. With no A/C, most windows were open, so hanging out in the courtyard was not really an option, as you felt as if you were disturbing anybody relaxing in their rooms.

I would recommend this place for people on a budget, as it's probably the best you can find at this price.

This hotel is part of the reason I would return to Marrakesh. The very Morrocan design and furnishings felt like you were in another world. It's located very close to the main plaza. Our room was neat, clean, roomy and the beds were comfy. The tiled en suite bathroom was a nice surprise. We ate a Morrocan-style dinner in the restaurant one evening in the outdoor patio. There were also two indoor dining areas. The food was well prepared and tasty. and the service was outstanding. We took occasional shopping breaks up on the open air roof garden looking out over the rooftops, listening to the evening sounds as the Plaza came to life. Having the very-Moroccan hamman in the hotel was an added plus and not to be missed! Finally, the staff was gracious, friendly, and helped us arrange a trip out of the city, transporation to the train station and find our bearings around Marrakesh. They made us feel very special!

Stayed here for 3 nights. Was very easy to find, literally 2 mins off the square - perfect location. Staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. The room was atmospheric and we were glad to find blankets and heaters for the cold nights!!!
Lunch was lovely and the terrace has wonderful views!!
only gripes - no bin and the sink was extremely wonky!!
this hotel is a bargain and a safe and atmospheric, central location.

My husband and I stayed here 3 nights. The riad is very beautiful!! Rooms are small but it was the first place we stayed in during our 2 weeks that had really hot water and it stayed hot!! What a luxury!! It was very cold while were there and it was a treat to find extra blankets in the closet for the bed. There was a tv in the room that had a few stations on it. There is a restaurant upstairs to have breakfast; it is extra and not included in the room fee. Breakfast was good but waitstaff a bit slow. There is also a hammam in the basement that couples can do privately; we had a great attendant and it was wonderful to be so warm. The men at the front desk of the riad seemed apathetic---they were neither rude nor friendly. Wish I could have gotten them to smile for me once while we were there. :)

  • Liked — location, hot long showers, extra blankets, hammam
  • Disliked — wish front desk staff was friendlier

My husband and I spent 4 nights here at the end of November.
We were delighted with the general ambience of this reasonably priced Riad. The location is great ,just off the Djemaa el Fna Square, the room was very clean and cosy and a heater was provided for the colder evenings.
Breakfast and afternoon tea on the terrace were a delight with wonderful views of the High Atlas Mountains.

I have no hesitation in recommending this Riad to others.

Location is fantastic. Literally 2 minutes walk from the Jemaa El Fna, the centre of the city.

Rooms are small but that wasn't a problem for us. Very little storage space so don't take too much clothing.

As others have said, don't expect to pay your bill by credit card, "our mahine isn't working" was what we were told. Luckily enough I had read the reviews on Trip Advisor and was prepared for it. Still, points off for that.

Our booking experience was no problem unlike others on this site so can't complain there. Staff were pleasant enough, especially waiters and cleaners. I would definately recommend this hotel for those who want a relatively cheap, in the middle of the action hotel. If you like your home comforts maybe look elsewhere.

Oh, and we found it easy to locate. I got the impression from others that it was difficult to find but no problem for us.
