“A unique experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2010

Great hotel, amazingly beautiful. Garden is like paradise, rooms like heaven. Service very friendly, but sometimes a bit confused. Dinner tastes great, but breakfast is very continental. The pool a bit cold.
Staff is very friendly to children, but as a parent you steel feel your kids disturb other guests a lot since this is a very quit place where even a small sound tends to get very loud in your ears.
Overall a unique experience.

I have never been to the same place twice until Dar Anyiwen , the setting is so relaxing, the beauty treatments were great , Stephan and Azziz go out of their way to be accomodating , an arranged trip to the Atlas mountains was a fantastic experience . Highly recommended

Beautiful house set in tranquil gardens with inviting swimming pool and excellent staff. Food a little disappointing but free on demand taxi service to town gives you other options. Stephane and Aziz were extremely friendly and the Haman got top marks from the wife! Highly recommend a few days unwinding here!

We spent a long weekend here and were made to feel welcome from the moment we were collected from the airport, in fact all of the staff, it is safe to say, seem to have mastered the art of hospitality. The complex is vast when you consider that there are so few rooms, so even when fully booked there is still plenty of space to lose yourself in this oasis of luxury and tranquility. Such is it's splendour, Dar Ayniwen boasts a long list of accolades from the high-end travel critique and celebrity guests alike and we couldn't agree more.

The facilities are first class, the staff are wonderful, the decor is authentic, interesting, sumptuous & tasteful, the grounds are beautiful, the food is excellent.

Dar Ayniwen is the perfect antidote to the humdrum, and is a welcome oasis from the chaos of Marrakech.

Superb!

We stayed at the Dar Ayniwen from Oct. 8-10 for the last couple of days of our vacation in Morocco. It is certainly away from it all - down a dirt road, behind an imposingly large gate. The garden is certainly beautiful and well-maintained and the pool is large and refreshing. There are lots of staff (gardeners, waiters, cleaners, drivers, etc.) who take care of the guests. Aziz the manager speaks excellent English and seems to work 24 hours a day. We were upgraded to a villa with a private garden which was decorated in what could be called Arabian decadence (thus its name:Roman?).
I generally enjoyed my stay at Dar Ayniwen and since my husband and I tend to be (over)active, also appreciated that the transport service to town was always readily available. The fact is that given where Dar Ayniwen is, it would be quite difficult to take a taxi there (what is the address? can it be found?) and even if it were possible, it would be expensive. So without a car, one is dependent on the hotel´s transport service, which was very reliable, but is sometimes hard for people who are used to alot of independence. So it really is most appropriate for people who want to spend some of their time in Morocco relaxing by the pool and hanging out in a nice garden. The Hammam is very nice too.
Otherwise my criticisms would be that we ate there one night and found the food pretty bad and quite expensive. Also there was no really good shower in our villa although we had 2 bathrooms. Finally for a place that was quite expensive, especially for Moroccan standards, there was a strange feeling of being kind of "nickled and dimed". For instance, breakfast is included, but if you want fruit, it costs more. Or there is no complementary bottled water, which in a place like Morocco (brushing teeth no problem, but probably wouldn´t drink from tap) is kind of odd. These are not big things, but it does seem kind of petty for a place like Dar Ayniwen. I recommend that they rethink these policies. On the other hand I should point out that at the end of our stay, they generously offered me (female guests in general) a complementary Moroccan necklace as a gift, which was a nice gesture.
All in all, I liked Dar Ayniwen - nice staff, beautiful garden, etc. But as I said, it is for those who feel they need a luxurious break and want to spend part of their trip (a chunk of the day or some days of a longer stay) just relaxing by the pool and don´t mind spending the money to do it.

Wow, what a place. Feels like you are staying in someones house rather than a hotel. The rooms are stunning and we got upgraded into one of the bungalows for our last 2 nights. The staff are great and provide everything you need. Although only 15 mins into the centre of Marrakech you feel far away from it all and the grounds are stunning. From he lovebirds just walking around to the parrots in the sanctuary. This really is a perfect way to relax. Food is great (portions are HUGE if not too big!!! so either be hungry or you end up feeling guilty you don't clean the plate) absolutely loved the place !!!

We visited this Riad 23-30th October 2010 and can only say that we were treated both by Stephan and his manager Aziz in surroundings which we found superb and not forgetting all of the staff behind the scenes to ensure that you received the very best treatment and they certainly deserve the best accolade of most hotel`s around the world that my wife have visited and feel sure that many of the other hotels world wide could learn from, whilst we were there our suite got upgraded from what was already a very nice suite.Aziz arranged a trip to the Atlas Mountain`s for us in four wheel drive vehicle with a private driver meaning we did not share with anyone. The house car sevice I am sure is a great help for all visitors. This is the Riad to die for
