“Paradise in Marrakesh”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2014

Where do I start???? From the moment we arrived at Dar Ayniwen, and were greeted by the amazingly friendly staff we knew we had found a brilliant hotel.
The location of Dar Ayniwen is perfect, just 10/15 minutes in the free mini bus from the Medina and great souks, meaning you can experience the hustle and bustle of Marrakech but are never more than 15 minutes from your own private oasis.
I say private as the hotel is relatively small with only 8 suites meaning that there are never more than 20 people staying. This meant during some days of our stay we had the whole pool and ground to ourselves.
The main building and our suite, Tiwaline II, could not be improved. The decor, furniture and furnishings are authentic and of the highest quality. As you walk round the 2 acre grounds you feel like you have been granted entry to the home of royalty. The aviaries house dozens of beautiful birds (rocky is my favourite) and if you're lucky enough you might even get to meet the tortoise.
Our experience of the food across Marrakech was great and Dar Ayniwen was certainly one of the best. Every morning you were greeted with a delicious breakfast which changed subtly each day so that you were able to try different treats, the homemade yogurt was simply to die for. At breakfast you are also asked to select your evening meal, if dining in the hotel, so that the kitchen team can buy the right ingredients freshly that day. When my husband selected a fish dish I was really impressed that the waiter asked him to selected a 'back up' dish and explained that if the fish that day at the market as not good enough quality they would not be happy to serve it. The attention to detail and quality of everything the team at Dar Ayniwen offer could never be faulted and the evening meals were beautiful.
My husband took the opportunity to go into the kitchens and learn how to cook the lemon chicken tagine from the chef which was fantastic and we both enjoyed the Hammam (the most perfect way to start your holiday)
Even with all of this said the most amazing thing about this hotel is the service you receive from Aziz and his team. Every member of the team we met including the waiters, house keeping, drivers and Spa therapist were friendly, helpful and attentive but all in a way that was relaxing and not too formal. Nothing was ever too much trouble and a number of times when we mentioned where we may want to visit during the day or eat on an evening the team were one step ahead helping you book tables (and requesting the best tables at that) and plan your day around when certain sights were open.
Overall since we have returned to the UK we have told literally everyone about this hotel. It is quite simply one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at and outright has the best service we have experienced. Needless to stay we will be visiting again, the sooner the better.

Room Tip: We stayed in Tiwaline II and can not recommend it highly enough. The suite is spacious and beautifu...

This is THE place. Tranquil, clean, luxurious, well tended, polished and well equipped. Unbelievable interiors and rooms. Attentive staff and grounds to die for. That is not to mention the newly re-tiled pool which is really pretty and well kept. When I was there this time I reckoned that they have 16 or 17 staff and there were 8 guests.

The on site Hammam is a must do.....Thank you Aziz again another brilliant stay. This is, on it's own, is enough of a reason to go to Marrakech.

This was out first visit to Marrakech and we will certainly be visiting again thanks to Dar Ayniwen. The staff were very welcoming upon our arrival, and we were looked after from the start. The staff, particularly Aziz and the owner Stéphane were lovely, and everyone was always available for any questions we had without intruding on our privacy. The house and gardens are amazing and we can't wait to book our next visit there. I've never visited the same place twice, but I would not be able to pass up a chance to stay there again. Thank you to everyone for making our break great.

I really don't think we could have found anywhere better to stay in Marrakech. You are made to feel like a special house guest, with wonderful staff and surroundings that contribute to an air of tranquility and total relaxation. Staying here is a unique experience and one we will never forget. Our immense thanks to everyone at Dar Anyiwen for making us want to return as soon as we can.

Room Tip: We stayed in the main house in the Scheherazade Suite, with an amazing bathroom, but I believe all t...

I am not the type who likes resorts. I was sure Dar Ayniwen would be luxurious, but there is something about the resort vibe I am not comfortable with so I was apprehensive. But the secluded, lush park with beautiful birds, happy frogs and pet turtles blew me away. The (very few) other guest were pleasant, the food was great, the staff was very attentive and polite and it felt much more like staying at your wealthy cousin's place than a hotel. I am going back, for sure.

Three friends and I travelled to Marrakech to celebrate our 50th birthdays. A colleague had suggested Dar Ayniwen and what a great recommendation that was. We loved the hotel. Great room (Romane Pavilion), beautiful grounds, lovely meals in the evening and wonderful staff. Aziz helped us plan our trips into Marrakech and was a great source of advice, nothing was too much trouble. The drivers who did the airport journeys and took us into the city and back were great and mean that you never have to worry about cabs. We will long remember our leisurely breakfasts, sitting in the sunshine looking out across the pool and gardens and enjoying delicious fresh orange juice, good coffee and delicious pastries. Thanks to everyone at the hotel for a memorable stay.

Room Tip: We had two beds in the living room of Romane Pavilion, which worked well for our group of 4, particu...
