“Amazing place”

Riad Star is the amazing and newest Riad hotel in the vibrant Marrakech, located in the medina, known to be the one-time residence of Josephine Baker. It offers a quite relaxing environment contrasting with the outside busy medina, with very nice and attentive staff, tasteful meals and sunny terrace with a dipping pool fountain. The rooms are classy, gorgeous and well-equipped. Riad’s hammam and massage suite are another plus. Hotel-mobile phone was offered during my stay in case I get lost in the red city. The staff are Very friendly and know how to Please a guest. The food is delicious! Would go again for sure.

Me and my sister were lucky enough to stay in this beautiful riad in September. I would definitely recommend a transfer from the hotel as you may find Djemma el fna square but not the little gem hidden in the crazy souks.
As we were the first guests to stay at the Riad, Abdullah the manager was eager to please us and he did not fail. He had arranged a feast cooked by the very talented Meriem, up on the cool rooftop, with a musician. As the only guests we felt spoilt rotten and had the run of the house, we had a room each, I stayed in the Josephine room and my sister stayed in the Paris room. Each of the rooms have a different style but its difficult to recommend one over the other as they are all beautiful with attention to detail, I really liked the quirky little things when and where you least expected it, if you are a light sleeper its worth noting the Josephine room has a window and it can get noisy at night if you are a light sleeper, but i didnt mind this.
When you venture out Abdel wont let you leave without a map, a phone and advice and he will be there waiting when you return, its worth saying that the staff really are on call so if your plans change or you are going to be late, telephone and let them know so they are not waiting around.
A Big thank you to all the staff at the Riad Star, no matter what time we returned they were always around with a smile and a cup of tea. Shukran .

Room Tip: Josephine room has a window onto street. All rooms are amazing.

Absolutely can't recommend this place enough - staff were some of the most attentive I have ever experienced, the place itself was simply stunning and all the little details that make the difference were there in abundance.

Upon arrival you're provided with your own mobile to use for your stay, already programmed with everyone's contact numbers that you'd need - Abdel was also lovely enough to wait up for us to have a night out, and come and meet us from the taxi to walk us back to the riad.

Breakfast every morning on the roof terrace was one of the highlights and i'm really missing it now! Just not the same with a banana at my desk!

At Riad Star, you are well and truly pampered. All the rooms look stunning, but we stayed in the Josephine Baker one, and it just heightened the feeling of the place being steeped in history even more.

All in all, an absolutely cracking holiday!

We chose to stay here because this was the one time residence of Josephine Baker.
Having staying in Marrakech regularly we were familiar with the trip from the airport to be met in the medina by riad staff. Our transfer driver from the airport met us at the arrivals gate, and took us in a beautiful new car to the edge of the ancient medina. The drive in itself was an unexpected treat, the driver took us via the royal palace to show us some of his city. We were met by a charming young man, who took our cases and led us to the riad, he was warm and friendly, and spoke superb English. We reached the riad in a few minutes, where we were stunned by the lavish beauty of the place.
We were greeted with homemade treats and delicious mint tea, and this level of pampering was indeed the theme for our stay!
The poolside seating with stunning silver pouffes and sparkling sequined carpets was fabulous, and the projections of images of Josephine Baker during her life were a great touch, bringing the lady herself into the space.
We were shown to our rooms ( one for my daughter and one for me!) both were wonderful, large en suite rooms furnished with a real eye for detail. The decor includes an array of Art Deco antiques, and many personal items which belonged to Josephine.
The care which has been taken to breathe the essence of Josephine baker into this immaculately restored home is astounding, there is even a dressing up rail of vintage clothes!
We ate I the riad twice during our stay, and the meal was plentiful and delicious.
The spa and hammam in house are a must!
One other thing which I was very impressed by was the staff, the rooms were immaculate and nothing was too much trouble.
We hope to return soon to this wonderful historical setting in our favorite city.

Room Tip: I stayed in star room which was wonderful, it has a lounge area and a luxurious en suite with the be...
