“WARM WELCOME TO MARRAKECH ......”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 days ago NEW

THE IMPERIAL SPA HOTEL WAS A GOOD LOCATION, only about 30 minutes walking distance to the 'Souks'
The staff were all very helpful in particular 'Nadia' the tourist guide who arranged a driver to discover 'Marrakech' within 3 hours of arriving, it was 'Magical'.....
The 'Spa' was also a wonderful experience ........

My wife and I spent 10 days at the Imperial, I did read some of the review that were written about this hotel, so i went with an open mind, some complained about the food but I can assure you the food was perfect every evening and a different menu each night. the breakfast is the same each morning but what can you do with a breakfast, know matter what country you go to the breakfast is nearly always the same, the staff are very friendly from the General manager down to the young lady's that serve you in the restaurant, the general manager came and spoke to us each evening and eat in the restaurant himself, we did have a problem with our room when we arrived but it was soon sorted out, my only complaint was in the bar of the evening you had a man playing music which was very good but the big screen television was showing football all the time on a wall just behind him. I would recomend this hotel to any one, it was our wedding anniversary and the manager sent us a big blow of fruit to our room

Room Tip: make sure you get a room over looking the as the rooms at the front can be noisy from outside traffi...

We stayed here 22/02/15 - 01/03/15

After reading a lot of reviews on here we were extremely worried initially about staying at this hotel, but we needn't have been at all. The staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to help you, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel 'go to' lady called Nadia is situated by the main entrance, she is there most of the time with a break in the afternoons but helped us arrange all our excursions and was not at all pushy as stated in some reviews, she was extremely helpful on the local information like how much to pay for the taxi's so we didn't get ripped off and 'what to do' and 'what not to do' if you go into the souks in the Medina because although people are very friendly there, they do expect Dirhams for their service whether it be a picture with a snake, monkey, or men in traditional Berbera dress or a henna lady.....this info helped us imensley.
We were half board which included breakfast and dinner, the breakfasts were jam packed with a vast array of food which included cereal, toast, meats, cheeses, local breads, Morocan pancakes, sausages, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, fruit fresh and dried, yoghurts, jams and the list goes on.....if there was something you wanted the staff would go out of their way to accommodate your tastes. Dinner was a choice of two starters two mains and two desserts which were varied and delicious but again, if you didn't like something they would accommodate.
The Hotel.....yes it is dated......but their are discrete works happening in all areas, the man happily beavering away everyday in the pool area re-reeding the sun umbrellas, new paving around the pool area and new hedging taking root. The pool area is tranquil and refreshing, the pool was too cold to swim in but was told the sun is in the garden for most of the day in the med/high season. The spa is lovely and the staff paid special attention when they knew it was our anniversary by lighting candles around the pool and dimming the lights, very relaxing with delicate music playing.
Our room was adequate which was overlooking the pool area, yes there were minor things like the grouting around the taps looked like it was done in a very amateur way and the light above the dressing table was loose, but this affected our holiday in no way shape or form! the housekeeping ladies put fresh clean bedding on every day, we had clean towels everyday and the beds were comfortable. Previous reviews that have stated 'minor' room problems are frankly MAD if they feel their holiday was affected because of a blown bulb or a loose door handle!.
There is WIFI in the hotel and it is absolutely free! we had reception in our room but reception was best in the reception area.
The rooftop bar terrace had an amazing view of the Atlas mountains, it was a real suntrap and I can see this being very busy.
The hotel had an 'odour', but after exploring the local area we found this is the normal odour for this area and is i guess normal and DIDN'T hinder our holiday. We had forgotten about it by the second day. The manager of the hotel was warm, friendly and genuine, he as well as Nadia and the restaurant manager Mohammed were all making sure your stay was as good as it could be. They would make time to talk and come see you in the restaurant every day.
My one and only criticism of this hotel is the hotel bar....although the bar at night was extremely busy with both local and hotel trade, it was extremely smokey, I understand it is normal for people to smoke in all areas in Morocco but feel the inside bar doors could have been kept pulled to and the doors to the pool area opened for 'smoke ventilation' to minimise the smoke wafting into the hotel affecting the non-smokers like myself.
Overall a good hotel which was enhanced by its extremely friendly and accommodating staff and I think without the help and local advice we got from Nadia, we would definately have been ripped off. Also, the exchange rate at the time was the same as the banks to change money to Dirhams which was handy.
We would visit here again definately but we have just too much of the world to see!!
Thanks to all at The Imperial Holiday Hotel for making our anniversary special.

All I can also say is don't stay here, Swiss International need to visit this hotel and sort it out we stayed here for 4 nights and like the previous comments they are all true, first the sign outside only had a few letters lit so fault here we go we are in a right hotel here it is sold as a 4 star but is definately more like a 1 star, we booked half board and the food is horrible we had the evening meals and they are all reheated in the microwave and not freshly made, we had a chicken dinner and it was cold and a carbonara that was frozen. The hotel bar was filthy and food all over the floor what made it worse was locals smoking in there so enjoying a drink was out the window, room very basic, no water, tea or coffee the electrical sockets were hanging off the wall, the shower bracket was broken and I reported this on arrival but nothing done for length of stay if you want to come to Marrakesh avoid this hotel at all cost

Room Tip: First don't book but if you have to book a room not above the bar due to love music

ONLY ONE FLAW FOR THIS HOTEL : ZERO QUALITY

To put it in simple terms: crumbling hotel, dirty room, unsanitary toilet, broken hand shower, mustiness in all corridor, everything is payable option (interior swimming pool, safety deposit box, etc.), rude and disagreeable personnel, exchange your money outside the hotel to avoid being cheated, and the list goes on and on...

"International" Restaurant: poor and uneatable breakfast, roach on the floor and near buffet (if we can call it that), no expresso, undrinkable coffee, non-existent service, and the list goes on and on...

Room Tip: Rooms outside the hotel are definitely better, AVOID ALL THIS HOTEL

Having been moved here from the Dellarosa due to their overbooking all I can say is I wish I had put up more of a fuss about being moved, but we thought the location would make up for any shortfalls. Alas the location does not make up for the quality of this accommodation.

4 star this hotel is definitely not.

A receptionist that doesn't care (we stood for 10 minutes waiting to ask a question while he chatted on the phone), poor state of the rooms (shower is dismal), towels that might as well be sandpaper, uncomfortable beds, intermittent WiFi, no minibar, no tea/coffee making facilities, one electrical socket in the room (the other in a cupboard where the minibar would have been had it existed).
