This Riad fully lived up to the Tripadvisor reputation.
Fantastic welcome,beautiful rooms and furnishings,
This is not a cheap option but for quality it is certainly value for money.
Breakfast in the room or on the terrace superb.Dinner was OK not spectacular.
No hidden extras on the bill and the staff were brilliant at helping with trips, tours etc

My sister and I had a wonderful stay at the beautiful Riad Kniza.

We were met at the airport by Kamal who kindly gave us a mini tour of the city before heading back to the riad for lunch. We were served a delicious traditional home-cooked Moroccan lunch on the terrace, it was a perfect start to a fantastic holiday.

Service at Kniza was attentive; rooms spacious and nicely decorated. The beds are very comfortable and the food was divine. Marrakech is a chaotic and vibrant city and our stay at the riad was a perfect counter balance.

Spent 7 nights in this little oasis. All reviews of this Riad appear to come to the same conclusion, that the whole experience is excellent and unique.
We booked one of the cheaper rooms, which was as lavishly decorated & had many of the same facilities as the suites, just a little smaller. The decor was amazing, straight out of the "Morrocan interiors" book. With all the opulance of the decor, the antiques, my husbands first observation was how smooth the plasterting was!
Its all been said before, but the staff are true proffesionals, and genuinely want to look after you. Nothing is too much trouble.
The food was very good. It was quite a surprise to us at first that there was no menu as such. You just ask what is available & they will more or less cook whatever you want.
The location of the Riad is good. Situated in a less touristy area, the locals go about their business & dont hassle you. Its only as you get nearer the main square that the hassle becomes a hassle, but you get used to it.
There was building work going on during our stay. Unless you were on the roof terrace you heard none of it. Four more rooms, a pool & a hammam are under construction. Just hope that with the expansion the Riad does not lose its charm & personal touches.
The roads inside & outside of the medina are a bit of a nightmare. It takes a while to get the hang of crossing the main roads.
We got the bus to Essouria. The Blackpool of Morrocco. Pretty place, worth a visit. A little calmer than Marrakesh, much cooler with the sea breeze. Make sure you buy your ticket home as soon as you arrive, or you may find you have to stay overnight as the buses fill up quickly.
On the whole, Riad Kniza is a perfect place to stay, it cannot be faulted.

Even reading other reviews did not prepare me for our arrival in Marrakech. The cab dropped us off at the gate and our bags were tossed into a hand-pushed cart by an ancient gentleman (he had to be hired from central casting!) who indicated we should follow him. Off we went down the narrow street filled with fruit stalls, butcher shops and spice vendors dodging goat carts and mopeds. We turned down an even narrower alleyway and as we were wondering what we had gotten ourselves into, our guide rang a bell and the door opened into the stunning Riad Kniza. We were seated in a beautiful sitting room facing out to the central courtyard and fountain, and served mint tea while we waited a few minutes for our room to be ready. Before we had been there for five minutes Kamal had arranged a tour, dinner reservations and a day trip we had requested. And the rest of the visit measured up to the first 10 minutes in every respect. Kamal and the staff were gracious and welcoming at every turn, our rooms (we had a different room on one night) were both beautiful and comfortable, our tour with Mohammed was a highlight. I loved sitting on the rooftop listening to the daily life in the street and alleyway below. We would not hesitate to recommend a visit to Marrakech and Riad Kniza to anyone looking for the best of both worlds--the exotic, sensory overload of the medina and the oasis of Riad Kniza right in the heart of it all. What are you waiting for?

First time in Marrakech and we picked Riad Kniza on the strength of the consistency of the reviews. Has anyone ever given it less than 5........I doubt it.
We stayed in the Oriental Room on the ground floor being the last room available at the time of booking and although not as grand as the larger suites it was very nice indeed. Food in the Riad was very good (especially the chicken with olives and lemon ), the guided tour around the souks was excellent and the reception staff were also able to arrange a driver to take us into the Atlas mountains for the day. Had lunch at Branson's place..........superb location.
Customer service exemplified when we were booked into a restaurant named Dar Moha. We turned up and it was closed! We went back to the Riad and the staff immediately set about finding us an alternative. They managed to get us into Le Tobsil which was a very good traditional Morrocan restaurant (5 course meal for 2 plus a bottle of wine - £90) and even went to the lengths of driving us to the restaurant personally. Full marks for a great recovery. I would mention that the original cock up was the fault of Dar Moha and not the Riad Kniza staff.
A very warm and welcoming bunch of people run this place, you will not fail to like them and you will defintely want to go back. We certainly do!!

Its all been said before, but is worth repeating. Riad Kniza is an extremely elegant, calm and hospitable haven amid the frenetic but enjoyable activity of the Medina. Mohammed, his family and staff provide an attentive, friendly and efficient service well beyond our expectation. It's a really great location to stay for a few days to relax in elegantly Moroccan surroundings while exploring the nearby lively excitement of the Medina, souks and sights of Marrakech. The Riad's guided tour is a must. Oh! and the Riad's chef is excellent too! Many thanks to Mohammed for a memorable stay.
