“A magical colonial mansion”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

It's not flashy, modern or slick; Riad Kniza is an 18th-century mansion in the medina that the owners have restored to its former glory with traditional Moroccan tiles, woodwork and antiques. From the time we entered through the heavy wooden door into a fountain courtyard, we were transported into another world. We were upgraded to a suite consisting of a splendid sitting area with a fireplace, a connecting area with cabinets, closets, and media equipment, and a bedroom with a domed ceiling. The bathroom was spacious, with a huge tub, separate toilet and double sinks. Although the suite had AC, the windows overlooking the courtyard pool let in lovely breezes. Even more special: the delicious breakfasts delivered every day, the downstairs spa with a hamman, and the couscous dinner served to us one night in a private portico area. Plus, the staff was as courteous and helpful as one could wish. Marrakech has some fabulous hotels, but this place is ideal for those who want something really memorable.

Room Tip: As with most riads, the better (and brighter) accommodations are up a flight or two; ask for a groun...

We spent three nights in Riad Kniza which were wonderful. The family and staff were kind and helpful. The food was excellent. The Riad is about 20mins walk from the main square through the Madina which gives you a chance to experience the colour and chaos which is the fun of Marrakech.

Verry beautifull riad in traditional style (1878). Luxury rooms. Superb food and very friendly employees. Really really excellent ! Great terras on the roof, with a great look on the medina. 20 minute walk from the center of the Medina. Nearby a little market.
They arrangeeeverything you want for the right price.
We will surely come back to this place.

Simply wonderful in every way. Very attentive to meet your every need. Relaxing and beautiful surroundings. Perfect position within Medina, a guide available to take you around and point out the sights. Short walk to the Yves Saint Lauren Gardens. Would love to visit again and again.

Room Tip: We stayed in a junior suite which was beautiful, room 3, some building work outside which was little...

You wonder where on earth you are going when the hotel staff walk you down a narrow alley, and then it's like Alice in Wonderland. You step through a heavy wooden door into a beautiful calm and cool riad. Large padded seats in the earthy Morrocan colours, marble, fountain, rose petals and a fantastically warm welcome from the staff and owner. We spent days balancing the luxurious comfort of the riad (great rooms, pool, roof terrace, and more rose petals) with the noise and smells and scooters and bikes, all fighting their ways down the narrow alleys and roads. And the final word goes to the staff who could not have been more helpful from the moment we arrived, through organising tour guides and trips, to seeing us to our taxi when we left. They were charming and just the right side of friendly and oh so helpful. Truly the secret ingrediant.

I had 4 nights with girlfirends in early March. I really recommend this Riad. The staff couldn't be more helpful and friendly. The Riad is a haven of calm and loveliness in the middle of hustle. Two of us heard the calls to prayer but I didn't (maybe take ear plugs in case you don't want to hear the early call). Rose petals everywhere in our room. Comfortable bed. Breakfast on the roof terrace was super and the meals we had there were delicious. Alcohol is available in the Riad. The Morrocan Rose was just right. It is a great time of the year to go as it is a dry heat. Even when the heat got to late 20s the Riad was cool (and there is air conditioning). The pool is very cool! We would recommend Gastro MK for a sublime dining experience. You can book (advised) a month before. The Riad arranged for us to go on a day trip to the Atlas Mountains. Our driver was so very interesting. I don't know how it compares to other companies' trips. We also had a guide, Mustafa, to take us through the Souk (it is easy to get lost). Such a lovely gentleman. Riad Kniza arranged for us to be picked up and taken back to the airport and always led us to a taxi and made sure the price was right. Stay here rather than any named hotel chain. Wonderful.

We stayed at riad kniza for 4 nights at the beginning of March for a short winter break. It was a lovely hotel that provided calm away from the medina. We were so well looked after from picking us up from the airport, offering us drinks at all times, and generally making sure we were well looked after, which we certainly were. Breakfast was a feast every morning, we struggled to finish everything. We had dinner here on our first night, rose covered tables and live music made for a lovely ambience. Overall a great stay, thank you
