“Wonderful surroundings”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2009

We stayed for four nights at the Riad in January 2009. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and spoke perfect English.
We were given a free upgrade to a junior suite - a beautiful room with a wonderful domed ceiling.
The food was great - don't eat unless you are very hungry as the meals were substantial. Breakfasts were delicious, especially the warm 'pancake'. Try the Hammam - wonderfully relaxing, especially with a massage afterwards. The roof terrace was beautiful. Incredible how cool and calm the surroundings were compared with the frenetic market place just a few yards away.

What a lovely Oasis of quiet serenity after hard days of shopping in the dusty Souks of Marrakech. My wife and I fell in love with this place after having a less then pleasant 2 nights at another Riad. This place is just so oppulant that you may not want to leave as the rooms and foyers, and ramparts on top of the Riad just make you feel like you are in a royal family. The family that runs the Riad will look after you like a daughter or son and see to it you enjoy your stay.
We would love to go back someday.

Riad Kniza was an amazing place to stay. I can't even call it a "hotel" because the staff make you feel like you are in their home. They are welcoming and attentive. Kamal is the manager and he made sure everything was perfect! Their breakfast's were soo good!! Rooms are big and very comfortable. I traveled with my husband, parents and sister, we all had fireplaces in our rooms, spacious bathrooms and very VERY comfortable beds.

Marrakesh is a great city to visit. Its busy, colorful and the "square" is an experience you cannot miss. After your busy days in Marrakesh, Riad Kniza is the perfect place to wind down, relax and enjoy the quiet! The mint tea is the best in the country! I had it all over and liked theirs the best!!!

Thank you for a wonderful vacaction!!!

This was the last part of our trip, so Riad Kniza was our last stop before going home. We only stayed in Riads in Morocco and recommend to any traveler that they do the same. We were treated as family and felt we were in a person's home, and Riad Kniza was no exception!

Riad Kniza was gorgeous! The rooms, the service, the family who made us feel like their family -- were all wonderful! Kamal, the manager, and his father, made sure that anything we needed or any requests we had were taken care of. They could not have been more accommodating!

When we arrived, we had to walk through a small market street and then into a small alley and we all intrigued about where we would end up -- but as we came to the open beautifully polished wooden door, Riad Kniza was more beautiful than we could imagine!

The food is wonderful here -- we had breakfast and we had a dinner here and there is 24-hour room service if you need it -- they were very accommodating!

If you stay here, do make sure you go up to the rooftop terrace and spend a little time relaxing -- it is lovely!

My husband and I just spent five wonderful nights at the Riad Kniza. We travel and use hotels extensively, but the service at this Riad was exemplary. The manager, Kamal, and his staff were all friendly, courteous and efficient, and they did everything to ensure we encountered no hassles. The rooms were very pretty, very tastefully done and very clean.

Also, the food here was extraordinary! We ate at Al Fassiah and the other popular Marrakech restaurants, but we think Riad Kniza had the most delicious Moroccan food to offer. We hope to be back soon!

My husband and I spent 5 nights at Riad Kniza at the end of December and beginning of January. Everything about our stay was wonderful. The rooms are beautiful, lush and decorated in Moroccan antiques. The entire Riad is a jewel.

The food was great, and they make sure that they never serve you the same thing twice--however you can request whatever you would like.

Muhammad, the owner, is also a renown guide, and his tour of the Medina was the perfect way to introduce us to this wonderful city. Kamal, his son, manages the property and he and all the members of the staff are there to arrange anything and everything you might need.

We truly enjoyed our stay and would recommend Riad Kniza to anyone who would like to experience Marrakech and be pampered in Moroccan luxury.

Riad Kniza is, without doubt, the first place I would recommend people stay when coming to Marrakesh! The staff are without fault and cannot do enough to help you, from offering you mint tea and pastries by the pool (without even having to ask!) to being flexible with bringing breakfast either in your room, on the terrace or inside one of the lovely little secluded dining rooms around the courtyard in the Riad.
The rooms were immaculate (We stayed in the Ambar suite) and, although at some times of day, the drains can smell a tiny bit, that did not affect our stay in any way. The walk into the main centre of town (The 'Big Square') takes around 10-15 minutes and is one of the most interesting parts of the day, as you really get a sense of how local people lie day-to-day.
The Riad is an oasis of calm in a VERY hectic city, which is an assault on all of your senses - in the nicest possible way!!
