I have traveled to 54 countries and stayed at numerous premium hotels. This hotel is by far the best hotel I ever seen. This is not a hotel, but rather a memorable experience of Marrakesh. From the moment you arrive at the airport and are picked up by the friendly professional staff, to the moment they say good bye to you and give you a parting gift, you are in a world you'll never want to forget.
My experience starting online. I saw the pictures of this Riad on tripadvisor, then I compared it to many others and thought, At the time, they were ranked #35 in Marrekesh. I thought that this has the most uniquely interesting rooms and the comments from the reviewers seemed more sincere than all the other Riads. I decided to email the hotel and inquire on rates. Of course, the rates are very high, so I asked if we could negotiate, which the manager did. We were able to come to an agreement on price, which satisfied both sides.
This was a surprise for my girlfriend. All my girlfriend knew was to get on a plane from Rome to Marrakesh and that someone was picking her up at the airport. The moment I saw her at the hotel, she was startled, she could not believe how magical this place truly was. The entire experience of getting from the airport to this magical hidden Gem was unique and shocking. You see people living life like they did in the year 1200. The hotel is hidden within the chaos of Marrakesh. But once inside the hotel, you are in heaven. You are greeted with some of the best cookies and mint tea I have ever tried. You are given beautiful slippers and Moroccan Robes. James, the owner, greets you personally and explains what your time at Riad Farnatchi will be like. James will personally take care of everything for you and ensure that you get the same service that the Queen of England probably experiences. When you eat at the restaurant of the hotel, you get the entire restaurant to yourself, and all the meals made are custom made meals which you decide upon in the morning with James. James will ask if you want freshly hunted rabbit or quail. The hotel only had 4 other guest. We had a Hamman to ourselves. We also had breakfast every morning in front of a fresh fire by ourselves, and served as if we were Moroccan royalty.
All in all, this hotel was a memory I will truly cherish for a long time to come. I never have married, but I believe that this place is excellent for people who have recently gotten married and want to go on their honeymoon. It is an expensive hotel, but worth every single penny you pay. But the only downside is that once you stay here, no other hotel you will stay at will ever compare.
