“Oasis of elegance and friendliness”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2011

We stayed in this amazing boutique hotel for a long weekend and the hotel was one of the highlights of our trip. The place is beautifully designed around 5 Riads (courtyards) and represents a fine piece of traditional luxurious Moroccan craftsmanship. The staff is extreemly friendly and always helpful. I liked most the interrior finishing of all the rooms and public areas. Having dinner at the pool or on the roof top is an experience which should not be missed. The Hammam treatment was also very memorable. All rooms and areas are not overly big but that's just the way these Riads are build. Should we return to Marrekech we would not stay anywhere else.

Room Tip: book over SLH as a club member (which is free)

We spent three days in a dream. A bubble of peace and relaxation, with the only sound of water and birds .... The first day we spend more than 24 hours without going outside the hotel!
The personal attention was exquisite.
The whole hotel is full of wonderful details, very well-selected antiques.
Our team was sad to leave the site so special.

I was at La Sultana for two nights this month and it was one of the loveliest hotels I've ever stayed in.

It's divided into a few different riads, each quite distinct in their design. I was in the Bahia riad (at least I think that's what it was called!) which was in my opinion the nicest of the lot because it had its own plunge pool. Other than that, there is one large-ish pool in the central courtyard area which is lovely, and a slightly neglected-feeling one on the roof which is quite small and right in the corner by an extractor fan!

The decor is uber-opulent, as you would expect from this type of accommodation, and every room is different. The PR manager gave me a quick tour of the property and as expected, bedroom size is reflected in the prices. However, even the basic rooms are all unique and very visually stimulating.

The spa is lovely (guests can use the hammam pool for free) and we had a truly exquisite meal by the pool under the stars with an oud player providing the entertainment. Breakfast-wise, there's a decent buffet selection with lovely fresh juices as well as a la carte cooked options.

There really isn't much I can say to fault this place: it's fabulous.

Ele Cooper

Room Tip: Book in Bahia for a plunge pool.

La Sultana Marrakech is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. The hotel is stunning and a haven from the hubub of its surroundings. The staff were all excellent and the room sumptuous. The food in the restaurants was also excellent. The only slight negative was the gym equipment but only a minor point.

Great location - an oasis of luxury and peace in the hustle and bustle of the medina. The room was excellent and the roof terrace for breakfast and lunch was delightful. The pool is 2 floors down which makes sunbathing and swimming awkward. We only ate in the restaurant 1 night and didn't have a good meal - and the restaurant staff were not particularly friendly. The front of house staff were friendly and helpful - it was expensive but worth it.

The hammas was a real experience - not for the faint -hearted!

The front door is set back from the main street and easily accessible with suitcases, etc. A joy to behold with a different theme for each of the five riads. It is small enough to be personal yet large enough to wonder through and investigate new areas. The roof terrace gives a wonderful panorama of the city and is a peaceful area from which to enjoy the sun or to read in the shade. When city life is proving too hectic the hotel is the epitome of calm. Rooms are both beautiful and comfortable. The staff are charming and attentive. The great attention to detail is noticeable wherever you look. The hammam is very professionally run and I highly recommend a massage to help relax and revitalize you. To my delight I came across a tortoise wandering around that normally inhabits the flower bed at the centre of one of the riads. The only negative I can think of regarding La Sultana is that I did not stay longer.
