Owner description: Although you are not allowed to go inside the palace, it is still interesting to see from the outside from an architectural and historical standpoint. Plus, you’ll get a breather from the hustle and bustle of the center of town.

“Palace or a Big Empty Building ?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

It was ok but nothing special as far as Palaces go. We took a guided tour around the Palaces & Monuments which was ok for half a day.

“Worth a drive by...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2013 via mobile

A very slightly complex although tourists aren't allowed inside. You can 'snipe' a picture of the guards if you want to but they prefer no photos (probably for security reasons).

If you are staying in the south, or south west of the medina then you may pass this on your way to the airport.

“Don't make any special plans to visit!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2012 via mobile

We saw as much as we were able to from the hotel courtesy bus. Whilst there are numerous ceremonial guards you are forbidden to take pictures of them.

“can't go in”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2011

Although you can't go in the royal palace it is very pretty and tranquil to walk around the outside and get a feel for marrakech outside of the medina.
