Owner description: Nicely designed and maintained gardens, similar to those of Generalife in Granada, Spain. It’s a good place to recoup from the intensity of the market atmosphere.

“Pleasant tourist attraction”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

This is a pleasant tourist attraction in Marrakech. It is worth visiting once. Due to the tall trees there is plenty of shade from the sun and it is much cooler. There is a Berber Museum which is worth visiting as it explains Morocco's history. The Memorial for Yves Saint Laurent is a nice addition to the place. The plants are very pretty and the cafe is very chic but expensive.

Overall a good visit.

“Visit if you want some peace out of the Medina”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2013

It is like a small oasis in the middle of Marrakech- nice for a stroll, but small, you couldn't stay there for more than an hour (I think they don't allow it anyway). However, I couldn't help noticing that some of the information of the plant names and origins in the gardens are not quite right!

There is a small museum which is nice to visit (although they charge you for it), and there seems to be a café too, though it was closed when I visited).

Entrance fee is 60 dirham, if I am not mistaken.

“Pure serenity”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2013

Visited the gardens on day 2 of arriving in Marrakech...wow what an incredible place. From the melee of the bustling town to this peaceful oasis amid the hustle and bustle of town life. Incredible
Cacti and exotic plants in a calm serene setting to wile away the hours it is a must see.You have to check out the Berber museum and Yves St Laurent design gallery. The garden is a sensory pleasure!

“ok but not as 'amazing as Thomson would have you believe'”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2013

The Thomson rep made it sound like a 'must visit' location.....dissappointed as we did it in well under an hour including having tea and pastry in the coffee shop. If you do go spend the extra dirhams and see the Berber museum they have on site.....that was probably the highlight as the garden is all cacti and bamboo (which had lots of awful graffiti on it!)

“Very nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013

The place was beautiful but not the sort of place you'd visit twice. I love nature, and this place is a mini version of Kew Gardens in London, which I love. If you're staying in the old medina, take a taxi to this place.
