Owner description: Nicely designed and maintained gardens, similar to those of Generalife in Granada, Spain. It’s a good place to recoup from the intensity of the market atmosphere.

I have visited many gardens in different locations, this one is very unique in its style. The brightly coloured pots and bold decoration add a special touch to a beautiful selection of flowers, trees, cactus, fish and tortoises! Highly recommend this Garden to visit. We only had 3 days in Marrakech and Im glad we chose this as one of our places to visit.

“Something to remember”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2013

The garden is really unique with everything from giant bamboo to palms and cactus with ponds filled with lotus plants. The color throughout is called " Majorelle Blue" . We've never seen a blue like it anywhere.

“Beautiful Gardens”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2013

The gardens are an oasis of calm in Marrakech. Especially good place if you enjoy succulents and cacti although there is much more. Also a very interesting small museum.

“Don't bother”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2013

Really, do not bother going there. The staff at our Riad told us not to bother going and they were right. It has absolutely nothing to do with Marrakech or anything Moroccan at all. It's just a pretty average, pointless, dull collection of plants with tourists taking pictures of them. That's it. That is all there is to it.
You shuffle along with all the people who've been bussed in or dropped off by a calesh driver fancying a break, you stand and wait as tourists take pictures of themselves in front of a cactus, then you shuffle along until the next photo opportunity (of a person in front of a cactus).
Total waste of half an hour and 20 dhiram. Walk up the road and go into the medina and see something real instead.

“Stunning”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2013

Every trip to Marrakech needs a detour to see this wonderful place, a peaceful garden that serves as a monument to Yves St Laurent who lived nearby and made improvements here. Beautiful plants from all around the world, and shade from tall bamboo and palm trees make this a nice break from the bustle of Marrakech and the medina.
