“Nice and small riad”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2014

The riad is nice but bedrooms are really small.
We booked the suite but spent the first night in another room cause of a double reservation, which seems to be something that happens quite too often, reading other comments. To be onest he actually discounted us 5 euros at the end, beacuse of the night we spent in the wrong room.
The suite is much bigger and ideal for a coule with some luggage (not too much actually) as you can use the second room to store your stuff and still have enough space to move around, something quite impossibile in the other rooms.
The manager is really nice, he helped us going on a tour for two days and arragend a taxi to get there and to go away, all at a very reasonable price.
Not much attention to details though: two times we needed breakfast early as we were going on the tour and leaving the riad, but even if the manager known our needs and agreed on serving breakfast earlier, we had to wake him up, as he was still asleep at the time we previously agreed!
In the end we have to say he was also really nice to us and we did enoy our time there.

Room Tip: The suite is big enough, but if you book a regular bedroom you can have some difficulties to move ar...

The place is pretty tiny but nice, perfect moroccan style, clean and very close to the main square. Breakfast is ok, not amazing (bread, jam, joghurt and mint tea), but one can enjoy it on the terrace in the sun, which is pretty cool. The manager is extremely nice and cooperative, event if he's not always around. Definitely advice it: cheap, clean, comfortable and quiet, although 1 min by foot from all the mess of the main square.

We stayed 3 nights at Riad Eva. Misunderstanding in accomodation for one night was quickly solved by Radouane (manager) and we spent this night in another riad not far from Eva - the same price, compared conditions. Our moving to Riad Eva was arranged next day, service man for carrying our luggage was waiting for us.
Perfect managed riad, perfect breakfast service but breakfast was basic. Nice rooms in moroccan style, smell in bathrooms could eliminated, accepted price, easy to find using map on website.

Many reviews mention Kenny and Cheryl, but we did not meet them and read that the hotel recently changed management. Radouane was our host, and he was very welcoming upon our arrival, but we could not find him or any other English speaking staff when we were ready to depart in the morning.

We had a 3-4 person suite that was nicely decorated, but the rooms were quite small, and the beds more or less filled them up.

The bathroom had a terrible smell, and the room was extremely cold in January.

Skip the breakfast - it was just a baguette and coffee; you can do much better in quality and price (it wasn't included) just around the corner at any of the restaurants, though the view from the terrace was very nice.

It was a tricky walk through a maze of alleys from the main square, but the directions they provided were excellent and the area felt lively and safe enough - though I'm not sure I'd feel safe anywhere in Marrakech at night if I were a solo female traveler.

Stayed for 3 nights in riad Eva. Very close to the main square and easy to find once you know the route. Kenny (the host) provided useful instructions how to find the hotel in the first place. Do not stop and ask for directions on the street, if you do, then only from the vendors.
The hosts were really nice and provided a lot of info, Kenny even booked us a hamam visit and walked us there. We would have never found this place on our own.
He also sorted out our desert trip. Suggestion- make sure you get the 3 day one to Merzouga. It is a long drive but worth it.
Otherwise the riad was clean, quiet and safe. Rooms were basic, breakfast consisted of some toast, local bread, cheese, yoghurt and of course mint tea. There is also a rooftop, situated next to the suite. View is nothing special though, as the old city is mainly flat so you will just be looking at other rooftops. I read in another review that this place is not safe for females (the way there is through small alleys etc) but most of the riads in the old city are situated in the souks, meaning you will get hassled everywhere, just keep your cool and walk on. Another option is to stay in a hotel.... but then why go to Marrakech?!

Basic hotel, only a few minutes from main square. It is located in a somewhat secluded alley. I visited Marrakesh with my boyffiend, but the location is definetly not ideal for just girls.
The riad itself is basic but okay. Rooms are very small but clean, shower and toilet were not always werking properly, the bed was just awful. We hardly saw the owners during our stay, and unfortunaly, when we saw them they could not provide us with proper information about possible excursions. It is however very easy to find the information yourself with local travel agencies in Marrakesh.
Conclusion: if you want to be close to the square, and not pay too much, this riad is fine. Don't expect to stay in a top notch hotel.

Where to start? First of all, Kenny and Cheryl are the nicest people, very helpful, full of advice, they are taking care of that little lost kitten - I love them for that! I visited Marrakech with my friend and we were welcomed by Kenny at the beginning of Jemaa el Fna - in fact, he had already helped us with useful information via e-mail prior to our arrival to Morroco. Every morning, when we woke up, the breakfast was served at once, no matter how early or how late we woke up. Usually, there was a nice Morrocan lady attending us, but when we had to wake up early in order to get a bus for a trip (which they arranged for a very goog price!), Cheryl did the breakfast. During our stay, Kenny told us where we can eat good and cheap food, Cheryl took us to a nice hammam near the riad, we had shisha in the evenings and we met some nice people from UK nad Germany. The room was clean, the beds were maid every day. The riad itself is set in the quiet little alley, although very close to Jemaa el Fna.

So, if you like staying at the centre of action but far enough that the noise doesn't reach you, if you love typical morrocan style and would like to get more for a very good price - Riad Eva is the right choice! Cheryl and Kenny, keep up the good work!!!
