While the shop itself was nice and it might have been interesting to peruse the spices and oils alone, the set up seems to all be part of a larger scam run by a group of guys who get kickbacks from the stores.
After being told that a sight we wanted to see was "closed but there was a festival nearby" and then somehow being led to the tanneries and given an unsolicited tour, brought to a shop and harassed to buy, then harassed by the man giving the 5 minute 'tour' of the tannery that he wanted the equivalent of 18GBP, then taken back by another man to stop at his "brother's spice store" all while never being led near the place we originally wanted to go. The guy will wait outside the spice store to collect whatever tourists he can to demand more money to be led astray.
So just be careful not to fall into this trap as they know exactly what they're doing. This spice store is just another "my brother's store" where you will be harassed into buying and paying them far more than any reputable guide would ask.
