“Quiet retreat”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013

Friendly staff, quiet retreat from the sensory overload in Marrakech. Very central and easy walking distance to all the attractions. The room (Mirandes) was basic but comfortable apart from the heat! There was no air conditioning in our room despite the booking saying there was. Also despite being there in June the plunge pool was not filled. If you are looking for cheap basic accommodation you cant go wrong staying here however I would make sure you get one of the other 2 rooms with aircon.

Hello,
Thank you for your message. If you were averagely satisfied by your stay in spite of a team which answered your expectations, what we were able to read in your message, we apologize for it. Some explanations can maybe light you. The pond was not filled when you arrived .Nous clean him regularly and pay extremely attention on the filling because the water is precious in Marrakesh. We had to indicate him to you during your coming. Enough spaces with gigantic swimming pools exist in Marrakesh and we always propose them when our customers wish the real swimming pool. Besides the air conditioning exists in 3 of our rooms, the green, chestnut and red and not 2. We install according to our work all these youngs Equipments which moreover in June were never asked!! However I hope that you will hold attention who was carried to you during your stay because we took a lot of pleasure to receive you and hope to see again you under the sun of Marrakesh..The team of the riad...

Ideal place if you are looking for more traditional style of accommodation near the central square and souks. There is no swimming pool or bar or any of those things you would normally find in a big resort hotel but you can walk out the door and be in amongst Marrakech and all it has to offer. We found it to be very peaceful and quiet and the staff were very, very friendly and helpful. It is a small place, and while we were there for 4 nights we more or less had the place to ourselves.

We decided to stay at the Riad la casa because it was perfect for our budget and already had excellent reviews. We certainly made the right choice. Cristelle and Sammadou made us very welcome. I exchanged emails with Cristelle prior to leaving the UK we were 2 females travelling alone and had lots of questions! Cristelle arranged our collection from the airport and as the car couldn't go to the riad due to geography she also arranged for a guy with a barrow to meet the car and see us safely with our luggage to the riad. I am confident that this was all done for a very reasonable price. The riad was cute and homely and perfect for our 3 night stay. On request our hosts prepared a hot meal for our arrival as we knew we would be tired, it was fab! The next morning we were ready to explore but anxious that we would not be able to find our way around! Sammadou offered to show us the way to the Jemaa el Fna and wouldn't leave us until he was satisfied that we were confident to find our way back to the riad, this was such a lovely touch and made us feel very safe. Actually after the first time we realised that it was really easy to find our way back and was only 5 mins walk to the square and easy to navigate all areas of interest from this starting point. The thing that amazed me most was that the riad was so close but once inside and relaxing in the courtyard or bedroom it was absolutely silent, you could never guess you were in the centre of such a busy busy city! Cristelle kindly organised a fantastic night out at a restaurant, a visit to the local hammam which is a treat not to be missed and on the last day she booked us in to use the pool at a nice hotel in the new town. This was a welcome rest in the sunshine as we got a bit tired with all the amazing shopping we had done. Marrakesh was everything I had dreamed of and I can't wait to book the riad for what I hope will become an annual visit. Thanks to our wonderful hosts x

Room Tip: we stayed in the red room requested twin beds and it was small but comfortable and fine for a short...

You will note that almost everyone who stays at Riad la Casa loves it. In the busy, noisy medina Riad la Casa is a place of respite and tranquility. Cristelle works hard to welcome each guest and personally take care of his/her needs. She arranged a driver to meet us at the airport and person to guide us to the riad. She answered questions about what currency to use for various payments. She sat with us the first evening to lay out options for activities that she could arrange during our stay. Samabdou guided us to Jemaa el Fna to learn out way. They cooked us a fantastic meal the first evening. It smelled so delicious when we arrived we could hardly wait to eat it. After the first course of three hearty salads we were stuffed and thought that was the end, but there were two more courses!! WiFi is available at no extra charge. Several evenings we sat in the court yard just enjoying the peace and beauty, and read or communicated with family through WiFi on the phones. Marrakech could be described as a pretty wild place - for the adventuresome. My son said to me, however, "We are sort of being taken care of by the people in riad." He was right.

Room Tip: I can't think of a room that would be bad.

I love Marrakech and I love Riad la Casa. It was my 4th visit and as excellent as always. The staff is amazing and they always make me feel like home. The late night shishas and countless pots of mint tea made my holidays. I can't wait to visit again!!!

Room Tip: Mosquito is the best :-)

This is an excellent place for the global city hopper. This place gives you instant access to the Heart of North Africa yet the tranquility of home. The intimate surroundings of the riad are very homely, breakfast can be served as you wish (in bed or seated). The Riad has excellent links to local taxis providing day trips to Essaouira, Ourzazate or an evening dinner in the Sahara with views of the Stars. If however you prefer to enjoy the local medina life the call to prayer in the morning for the faithful, the Souk, local spas and the local food delights the Riad can book for you the experience you desire. Anyone who comes can treat this like their own home and be connected to the world of Facebook and Twitter thanks to a very reliable WIFI service. To avoid being ripped of by tourist prices you can give your shopping list to the workers of the Riad who will get you that "Moroccan Price" and not the tourist price. Come to this riad if you wish to experience the Real Marrakech.

Room Tip: Mosquito and the Songo rooms are excellent choices, well lit, ensuite with Hot Showers and EU standa...
