“Bespoke articles, clothing by local designers, reasonably priced”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2015

There is no name outside the entrance of this courtyard souk announcing it so ask someone. Also the La terrasse des espices restaurant is just above it and there are signs pointing to it. The first floor of this souk/ shopping complex can be entered through a courtyard, which has many other shops (of the kind you see all over the medina). Climb the staircase to the first floor. This is where the local designer shops are. Some are fairly interesting. Bought a black leather clutch from one of them. Reasonable prices. Clothing and linen also looked interesting. They also have a small "Hanoute" store with women's clothing but the one not too far away in the medina has more variety. Clothing in general is expensive in Morocco because even if it's designed in Morocco, they import fabrics from other countries.

“Not worth a special detour ”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2015

Based on the reviews we made a special effort to visit this place, and it's not really worth it. A bit more of a high end vibe, especially upstairs, but nothing really different to what's available in the souks. Top floor is terrace restaurant only, and there are ones with nicer views within 5 mins walk.

“A great place for off-the-beaten track shopping”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2015

I completely stumbled upon this place by chance ! I actually go at least twice a year to Marrakech and never heard of this place before.

It is a type of "kissaria", a traditional shopping centre on 3 levels:
- 1st level or ground level where you can find traditional moroccan goods, like the ones in the medina behind Jemaa El Fna. Nice collection, you can definetely bargain a litle.

- 2nd level is where it gets interesting. You can find there small shops of local artists who find inspiration in the moroccan savoir-faire and give it a modern twist. Love the vibe and creativity of the place for unusual gifts or just for slef-indulging. Fixed prices. My favorite shop: Lalla with the beautiful handbags, big and small.

- 3rd level where you can get a mint tea or have lunch/dinner at the amazing terrace of La Terrasse des Epices (which needs a different review).

“Favorite place to shop in the souks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2014

I realize this makes me a HUGE touristy tourist, but I do love Souk Cherifia — the cafe on the ground floor is great for a shopping break (Cafe des Epices — great tea, coffee, tiny honey & almond pastries), and the shops on the first floor (for Americans, the second floor) have a lot of beautiful Moroccan-sourced crafts, jewelry, cosmetics, and clothing. The prices here are quite high compared to elsewhere in the medina (and bargaining is less welcome), but I find the quality to be much higher and the experience is much less overwhelming if you're not a fan of the constant negotiation. Also, the spice store on the ground floor has very reasonable prices. Definitely worth a stop. Once you're done here, head west on the Route Sidi Abdelaziz for some nice stalls and a block of very high-end jewelry and antiques stores.
