“Never Again”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

I fully agree with the reviews that describe this beautiful hotel however having stayed at a local Riyad in the Medina i was very disappointed with the service at this fine hotel.
We attended a wedding at the Selman Hotel most of the guests stayed at the Delano. They were not prepared to handle a large group. Every other guest requested an iron with an ironing board we had to wait for 4 hours as soon as we arrived still no luck... we were so frustrated we spoke to the front desk manager Sarah who finally got our clothes pressed for us. The next three days was a battle every day to get the iron. The service was very slow the concierge was extremely rude and every time they arranged a taxi it included a commission for the door man.
The day we checked out it took us 3 hours to settle the bill because they did not understand that there was a deposit made prior to our arrival.Ten other guests went through the same ordeal. It was horrible:(( One of our good friends took 3 hours in the morning just like we did to finalize his bill, we left our suitcases with them until flight time at night. As we approached the front desk to pick up our bags they would not release my friend's bags stating he had not paid his bill!! The poor guy had to hunt for his receipts to prove otherwise not to mention the insult! The fact that we had to go through everything all over again made us late to the airport where we almost did not get on the flight! NEVER AGAIN!!

Rooms were very nice, beautifully designed Moroccan style with a modern twist, excellent location, beautiful chill out area on the roof with outdoor pool with great sushi bar and restaurant next to the pool, great variety of delicious salads and drinks, overall great experience

Room Tip: Not a family hotel

Stayed for 4 nights in early October 2013, last minute. Cheaper deal expired at end of Sept not extended, despite booking in Sept. Nice decor throughout hotel including rooms and bathrooms. High standard of finish to restaurant and bar areas. All staff very welcoming and spoke English well, all very happy to help on any request, although you might have to eventually get used to things being done in "Marrakech" time! If you want a drink at a bar, expect to wait 10/15 mins before you're served, 10/15 before you get your drink and 10/15 before you get the bill! All done with a smile though!! Food at breakfast was fairly standard for this level of hotel, food in Del Cafe really nice - chocolate fondant a must! Would stay again for proximity to Medina, view from rooftop pool, restaurants/hotels nearby and friendly staff. Manager (Sarah) deserves special mention. Spa/hamman nice but pricey. Downside: bars don't sell beer, but nice cocktails and wine. All in all - not the cheapest but bit more secluded and discrete than Sofitel and better quality than Hivernage Spa both nearby

Staying at the Delano Marrakech was a magical experience. We loved everything about it. The decor is beautifully exotic. Our room was cozy and quiet. (and amazingly ready when we arrived at 9am). There is an amazing rooftop bar/restaurant, along with a rooftop pool, with unsurpassed views of the city. We ate dinner at the hotel twice, once on the rooftop, and the other in a different restaurant on the patio. Not only was the atmosphere breathtaking, but it was some of the best food we have ever eaten. The service was superb, from head concierge, Ridouane Biiju, to housekeeping. The spa is beautiful and luxurious. The entire hotel is meticulously clean.

The only negative comment I have, is that to create a romantic ambiance, our room was very dark. It was sometimes hard to see, especially for ladies trying to put their makeup on! More light is needed! Otherwise, we were very pleased and and would definitely stay again!

Stayed for nearly a week in a lovely Executive Sweet. Gorgeous hotel with incredible style and beautiful local art throughout. Great room although brighter lighting might have been appreciated. Food was some of the best in Marrakech. Try the Panna Cotta or the Tiramisu in the Italian - ridiculously nice!

Staff in every department went out of their way to help, very nice people who always fulfilled requests with passion - but do agree that service in Marrakech generally is not as fast as London.

Room Tip: Floor 3 if you want a view...

A very nice location in Marrakech, with beautiful scenic views of the city and the surrounding mountains. A two night stay in a wonderful comfortable room, great linen, soft pillows and hard mattress. Do not miss the roof pool, bar and restaurant. I had some of the best sushi in town.
Book a room on the higher floors to enjoy the view.

I knew what I wanted and what I was meant to get by booking a stay at a Morgan's Hotel Group hotel and I was not disappointed.

You will read reviews as I did about the pace of service being slow but everything is slightly slower in Marrakech than it is in London, the staff are extremelly helpful and happy at all times and would bend over backwards to fulfill your needs.

Our room was surprisingly ready upon our arrival in the city at 9am- check in is usually later. It was perfect and rather large for a deluxe and we were greeted with roses, fruits, pastries and their amazing Morrocan tea!

I am sure that our holiday was made extra special by the warmth from head concierge Bijji Ridouane and guest relations manager Mourade. They were on hand each and every day with suggestions of where to go and what to do. The team working upstairs on the beautiful terrace were great for offering clubbing suggestions too!

The only thing to be aware of is that the food from room service isn't very hot- make it clear to the chef that you want it hot and he will make it happen.

The beds at this hotel are like nothing I have ever slept on before- large, cosy and nearly stopped us from leaving the hotel on one of the mornings!

My boyfriend and I cannot wait to go back next year and we will be staying at the Delano again!
