“Not in the medina”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

This riad is not where it says on the map and is outside the medina, a good 15mins walk to the main square.Didn't feel safe walking back at night as down a dark alley. There are much better riads in the medina.
We had arranged with the riad to be picked up at the train station, the train was 45mins late and when we arrived there was no one there. We got a local taxi which was much cheaper but he dropped us at the carpark near the riad.A local grabbed our bags took us to the riad door two mins away and tried to demand 100 dirhams! We didn't pay but were then greeted by the riad manager who was quite off hand with us as he said the taxi was at the train station.
So not a good start. The staff don't appear to stay over night and only the manager speaks English.
The riad is modern ,has a rooftop terrace but no outdoor pool as described in its website. The indoor pool is tiny enough to paddle in but not swim.Other facilities listed were not there ,we saw no hot tub or spa.Our room was good but small ,had to open door and squeeze around the bed.Good size bathroom however.
We had arranged to go on a trip at 8am so the riad said we could have an early breakfast, but there was no one there in the morning.Breakfast the other day was supposed to be from 8.15 am but no staff arrived until after this time. The breakfast was poor, bread , cake, yoghurt. Not very exciting.Fruit would be nice and a bit more choice.
The owner is Spanish and dosen't live there .I think they need to pay a bit more attention to their business as there are much better riads we stopped at in Marrakech.
Wouldn't stop here again as poor location and service.

My wife and I stayed at Riad Tahani for 5 days in May. The Riad is located within the medina, about 15-20 min walking to Djemaa El Fna (central plaza). About 500m from the Riad you can enter the Souk and walk on for hours to shop, chat and discover. :)

Upon arrival the staff picked us up at a nearby parking-place/ taxi-dropoff because being the first time around, it's not easy to find the building. We were warmly welcomed with a drink and a short chat with the manager. He is fluent in english, whereas the staff speaks arabic and french. They are all very attentive and friendly.

The Riad's furnishings are simple and beautiful. The pictures cover it quite well. The house is a classic Riad-building (most windows lead to a small court in the centre). This keeps out noise and heat, but makes the rooms a bit clairaudient.
Everything is clean and cosy. The breakfast was nice (baguette, butter, jam, honey, yoghurt, orange juice, coffee, small omelette). We felt at home.
At night you can order a meal at the Riad. We always went to eat out, mainly at Djemaa El Fna (we can recommend food-stand no. 25 in the centre of the square). Other travellers told us, they enjoyed to have supper at the Riad.
They have wlan access. It is a little slow sometimes, but worked out very well for us. The rooms have AC.
If you stay for more than three days, you should consider a day-trip to the desert or waterfalls.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012

Myself and my boyfriend stayed at Riad Tahani for a week in September. Apart from initially finding it difficult to find (as with most Riad's in Marrakech) as there was no name or number outside everything about our stay was great. The Riad is very nicely decorated and clean and rooms are spacious. All of the staff are very friendly and always happy to help. The manager speaks good english so was able to advise us on the best way to get to the main square which is about a 10/15 minute walk away. We didn't have dinner in the Riad as there were too many other places to choose from but breakfast was nice enough. The plunge pool was very clean throughout our stay too. All together a lovely Riad!
