“Tasty lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012

Popped in for lunch on our last day in Marrakech before evening flight. Opposite the tombs and quite tucked away. Wished we'd discovered this earlier. Excellent skewers with freebie soup, bread and olives. Very cheap but very tasty. Reasonable size menu (displayed on portable chalkboards though). Cafe is set on three floors. Good views from all levels. Staff spoke reasonable English.

A couple of improvements needed: getting the free wi-fi to work on the first floor and a bit more clarity on how to pay as no payment at the table (though they do accept cards) and you have to ensure your waiter/waitress is near the till on the ground floor.

“Nice rooftop terrace”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2012

Good friendly service. Good menu choice. Give it a try after the Saadian tombs - its just across the road.

“Great little find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2012

recently opened, just a cross from the tombs this was an excellent find, the food was reasonably priced and extremely good, we had a fab kabbah on the skewer, which was a nice change as we were completely tangine'd out by then, service was excellent and it was nice to sit out on the roof terrace, tho' as it was recently opened, I don't believe that it will be as easy to get a roof seat as the place builds its reputation.

“Put this place on your itinerary”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

We have now eaten at Cafe Kasbah 3 times, and the food & service have never been anything other than first class.

The downstairs cafe, almost opposite the Saadian tombs in the Kasbah district, gives no indication of what is on offer if you walk up the two flights of stairs to the Terrace.

The views are simply outstanding, whether you choose to go at lunchtime or in the evenings - especially as there is now a stork's nest on an old pillar, so , depending on which table you choose, you can watch the birds' comings and goings by way of entertainment and there is also plenty to watch going on in the street below. When it is really hot, certain tables are subject to the 'fine mist' spray at shoulder height, which, judging on observed behaviour, some people really appreciate & others can't abide.

The menu is all written on blackboards, so is relatively shot & uncomplicated. Staff are friendly, helpful & very efficient. Everything is immaculate.

The food is all beautifully presented. A small cup of something in a rich colour usually arrives first- last time we visited it was a drink made from beetroot, so was the most amazing deep red. I had gaspacho as a starter: it was delicious and almost a meal in itself. As for the main courses, the plates have real appetite appeal, with the focus being very much on the main components of the dish. There are no extra garnishes or other 'frills' to distract from the meal itself.

Meals ( I would especially recommend the brochettes) always comprise of fresh, high quality ingredients, simply cooked, resulting in a delicious taste experience, leaving little room for even the lightest of desserts.

You can also go up to enjoy the Terrace just for the price of a cup of coffee, if you feel so inclined - but why not treat yourself to an assault on all the senses here? I 'm sure it would be hard to find a better all round dining experience anywhere in Marrakech.

“good food and a pleasant place to dine out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2012

We had great lunch on the terrace at this restaurant after visiting Saadien Tombs. We had pizza; vegetable couscous and both tasted good. We only ordered carbonated water, but the watermelon juice was really temptation. Staffs were friendly and attentive.

The restaurant had a delightful ambiance from both inside and outside. The toilet was new and clean, very pleasant to use it. It provides a good view from roof terrace with few storks’ nests close by.
