This was my second time in Marrakech, I traveled initially with my husband, but this time I traveled with my daughter. We took all the warnings seriously about being modestly dressed and being mindful that we were two women on our own. But from the minute we stepped out of our Riad to the minute we returned we were hassled and it wasn't the usual people trying to attract our attention to sell us their goods (that we could deal with) it was the vulgar, sexual and threatening behaviour that we were exposed to. I have to say that nothing would possess me to return to this place. Even when we were in the company of a male friend who kindly walked us to our Riad from the taxi, we were exposed to more harassment - I can not understand this behavior - this is supposed to be a Muslim country where the women are respected when respectable, well someone has forgetten to tell the men in and around the Medina.
It is such a shame as we also met some lovely helpful people, both male and female, but all I have taken away from this trip is bad memories!
