“interesting place to get lost in”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013

A lot of colors and smells in the souks. You have to bargain a lot for the price because the prices for tourists are heavily inflated. So take your time to look around and make sure you get the best price. If unhappy just turn around and leave and they will most probably ask you to come back and sell you the staff for the price you want. A lot of fun to "play" with the local merchants. It is gret fun to get lost in the souk.

“bustling”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013

very colourfull and interesting but impossible to buy anything as they wont agree a price and keep bringing more items so u give up in the end, it is like stepping back in time and a guide arranged by the hotel is very usefull to learn the history of the place

Great fun. Recommend arriving early and getting lost/exploring. When haggling, offer 25% of their initial price. After some haggling, you'll almost inevitably end up paying about 30-35% of their original price!

“Lovely day out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2013

A real eye opener and thoroughly enjoyed my few days getting around and enjoying the atmosphere. Went in on the bus which was very convenient - watch out for the henna ladies though - as they will say let me just show you and then ask for £20 - I obviously did not pay ...... lol

“A bargain to be had .... just haggle!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

Loved our trips around the various souks. Our first visit was with a guide who took us into the artisan areas where lanterns, rugs, babouches etc are made by local people. He also helped us to get our bearings. It's worth having a good dig around for antique and more individual items. Some of the more mainstream shops sell mass produced tat.
