“If you can find it . . . It's well worth a visit”

Small museum tucked away in the heart of Marrakech. Not sure I could ever find it again! Fine example of a local property and an good little museum of Moroccan travel. Friendly hosts and guide books available in all languages.

“Small but good museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2014

Small but very detailed museum showing a lot of the history of the region and the people. Good for an hour or so, guide books in English, French and Arabic are given to visitors free of charge. Recommended.

“ramshackle, dusty but such a wonderful collection”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2014

If you want to understand anything about travelling in a caravan in a hot climate in one of the most difficult regions in Africa... spend some time there : the exhibition takes you from Marrakesh to Timbuktu , through a collection of artefacts that are rare and exquisite.

In a gorgeous building is a great collection of Berber items and other African tribal artefacts. with great displays and dioramas, the museum is a pleasant surprise and a great cultural addition to a day excursion in Marrakech!

“Please don't miss this treasure!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2014

Marrakesh has many splendid attractions, but this really is unique. It's situated in a delightful traditional town house worth visiting in its own right, but in addition it has a stunning collection of items from Morocco and other countries of the huge region surrounding the Sahara. It's the personal inspiration of the founder, an anthropologist who has dedicated himself to showing the traditional connections round and across the region in culture, crafts and beliefs, with the Berber peoples at its centre. And unless you happen to arrive at the same time as a tour group, you're likely to have the place to yourself. Nice area for shopping and refreshments in the immediate vicinity as well.
