“Nothing to see”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2013

It was nice to go for a walk but the Menara gardens were just lines of olive trees. Perhaps we lost our way but it wasn't very interesting.

“Don't believe the hype!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

This place is rubbish. Our hotel man told us it was a nice walk down Avenue de la Menara. It wasn't. The traffic fumes are overwhelming, and the broken glass beneath your feet is distinctly unappealing. I don't know what the significance of the Menara is and really, I don't care. The locals seemed to enjoy the place though....

“Don't get this”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

This seems to be a staple destination on tours of Marrakech, but I don't know why. There really is nothing to see but a dirty square lake and olive trees in scrubland. As this comes after the magnificent Marjorelle gardens on the tour, it makes you wonder even more why they bother. There is obviously some historic significance to this place, but it does feel like a waste of time.

“Don't waste your time.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013

Nothing really here, other than a scrubland adjacent to the Olive plantations, a concrete strip and a large square pond filled with dirty water, dead floating fish and rubbish. I'm pretty sure nothing was lost in translation - even the guide didn't really want to be there!

“any better review and you must be using morrocon”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

Just got back two days ago , these gardens were a short walk from the hotel .The guide pamphlet suggested a romantic cool place to see the reflection of the Atlas Mountains in the crisp waters of the centuries old reservoir with beautiful olives groves surrounding the small palace of the local sultan .Sadly I saw it as a dirty 1 acre lido with a few dead floating carp in muddy water along with a months rubbish floated next to it along with a dead dog festering in the woods .Even my wife wo sees things through rose tinted spectacles wanted to return to the hotel
