“Nothing amazing!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

If you have some time and wish to do a walk, la menara palce is a few kilometres distant from the medina. It is a nice walking along a road whit lots of palm-trees. Once you get there, there is a big artificial pool and some green area to have a rest. Lots of people are there. the place is quite suggestive at the sunset, because the sun reflects on the pool and creates a nice effect.

“Big But Boring”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012

This is a big area, mostly composed of scrubby orchards. The main feature is a large, rather featureless reservoir. There is a building at one end that you can go into to get a second story view but that's about it. It's mostly used by locals.

“Don't expect too much of this!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2012

Don't expect too much of this! From one angle you can take a beautiful photo of the house, but that's it. Don't pay to go inside it, because it's nothing special and the view is not good enough for interesting photos. We went to the Menara Gardens on our last day and it was good we ''saved'' this for the last day, because if we had missed it because of a lack of time, we wouldn't have really missed something. Walking in the gardens was peaceful, but the gardens were not that special. Nice experience, nothing to write home about.

“Dirty muddy pool, with acres of Olive trees”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

Not what I would call a garden, bit disappointing, but I guess for the locals somewhere to get away from the city. Large drive up to the pool which was muddy and contained some large fish, surrounded by acres of olive trees, which were in fairly rough ground, not really suitable for walking around. Very disappointing.

“Grubby. ”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012 via mobile

If they want to tout this as a tourist attraction they need to do some maintenance. The walk around the pool is interesting mainly because you find yourself wondering how the carp in there survive in the filthy water. No doubt the filth in the water is why they spend so much time with their heads out of the water.
It's worth knowing that you cannot walk all the way around the pool and there's no warning before you start.
If you look at the photos on any website or brochure you've seen you have seen the whole shebang and all the photos that can be taken.
