“Beautiful red walls at sunset”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2012

The best time to see the ramparts is at sunset (the west or south ones). Then they are rich in its red color which is tipical for all the facades in Marrakech.

“Do it by horse carriage in the moonlight”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2012

If you are lucy enough to be there during the full moon take a carriage ride along the ramparts late at night. Romantic and dreamy.

“An enjoyable walk”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

Any walk in Marrakech is fun, just soaking up the atmosphere but walking along the walls - even just a part of them - has added interest. You are bound to see other interesting things whichever bit you take. A bit like the M25, there is no real start or finish but they did buldoze through where Avenue Mohammad V runs to the square, so it's as good a place as any to start.

“Impressive Medieval walls”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2012

Encircling the ancient medina, these ramparts measure some 10 miles. Built from mud and stones and straw, they have withstood centuries of attack. They are regularly repaired, so look pretty good.
