A mosque like many others in the country that has a garden around where people pray. Nothing special but ok.

“Classic landmark”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2014

This Mosque symbolizes Marrakech for many people. We could not go in, but in the evening many families gathered here and went across the street to the Jmaa El Fnaa. It was not as hard to cross the street here as it could be in NYC. Overall, pretty place but I found it unusual to see some of the fountains dry.

“Looks alright but it's not that special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2014

As non-Muslims aren't allowed inside, you're just looking at the outside of a building. It's as nice as any building is from the outside and worth seeing whilst in Marrakech but I wouldn't say that it's particularly spectacular. I'm sure that inside it is lovely but you can see it from 500 yards away, you don't need to make the trip up close.

“Pretty as a picture”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2014

Although the mosque was not open for tourists as the Muslim religion does not allow it, I would make the effort to go and see this wonderful piece of architecture! We got some amazing photos.

“Great architecture and beautiful in the evening”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2014

You can hear the call to prayer from any direction in the old city especially from Jma al Fna. Although tourists are not allowed in, during the prayers, the doors are open and you can see the prayers being performed. In the evening it becomes a social hub for many local residents who relax in the gardens adjacent to the mosque. It is very peaceful and the mosque has great architecture typical of Morocco.
