Ok, worth to visit just because is the icon of Marrakech. In the centre of a nice garden almost separate the old and the new city. You will see it almost everyday because the tall minares is recognized from everywhere! Also beautiful in night.

The architectural is simply outstanding, they will overwhelm your scences. Take a local guide to help you appreciate the grandeur of the place

“The likes of me are not allowed in.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013

Seeing as I'm not a muslim and not allowed in, I do not consider this to be a tourist attraction! It's a shame, as I love Moorish architecture and enjoy learning about other faiths. Rules are rules though...

“Brilliant from far away, not that great close up”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013

The Koutoubia Minaret stands iconically over all of Marrakech and is gorgeous, but when you actually get to the Mosque, you can't go in and instead all you can really see is some non-interesting excavations, and a poorly kept garden terrace.

“A landmark wherever you are.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013

Didn't go inside but it is a stunning building which can be seen from most places in Marrakech. The area nearby is very busy and the hop on hop off bus stops are nearby.
