“Iconic, but you can't go in, so....”

Nice stucco and tile work on top, and impressive that it's so old. Also a good landmark in case you get lost. A shame you can't actually go in and see it.

“Very nice, peaceful place to relax”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2013

right weather for it. splendid views. we hung out at the nearby park, lovely trees providing shade for benches. we asked around and waited until 2pm for the mosque to open. being a muslim, we got to go in for prayers and have a walk about. i dont think theres anything very special to see inside. read carpets and white pillars everywhere. it cannot be compared to the cordoba mosque over in spain (maybe the minaret). still nice place to get away from the seering heat. oh and there's a KFC restaurant nearby lol :)

“the icon of Marrakech”

Love the minaret. It is also an ideal guide to help you locate yourself when in Marrakech.
I did not get to go in, I would have loved to visit the mosque

“Visible from most places”

Set in lovely gardens and listening to the 'calling to prayer' is quite haunting. Only disappointment is that you cannot enter

“koutoubia”

It is just ok and not available to non muslims. They discriminate against ppl in this way. You are however, able to look inside.
