Owner description: The Saadian Tombs are located just outside Marrakech and were constructed during the reign of Sultan Ahmad al-Mansur in the late 16th century. This is the resting place of al-Mansur, his family, and other notable officials from that era. These tombs were discovered in 1917; restoration began shortly thereafter. Today, much of its original splendour has been restored.

“waste of time”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

The price to see these tombs is 10 dirhams and unless you know Moroccan history or have a tour guide to inform you about the tombs this place is not worth seeing. It is basically a garden which has nothing other than like a separate tomb which you queue up to see take a picture and leave

“Worth seeing / but don't make a day of it.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

We combined the tombs with a trip to the Bahia palace to make a morning of it, they are worth visiting if you are passing but nothing more. There's no signs up inside to explain what's what or who is buried where (unless I missed them), but nonetheless an interesting place. Lovely setting, beautiful mosaics & architecture.

“very interesting place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

This is a good place to have a quick look around. The tombs are interesting and the souk cafe opposite is a nice spot for a relaxing drink. We didn't bother with a guide but listened in to some other peoples explanation.

“Interesting but not much to see”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2013

We where really looking forward to seeing the tombs but to be honest there isn't much to them. Don't get me wrong it doesn't cost much so would be worth a visit, but better as part of doing other things as you can get round it quite quickly.

“Tombs and courtyard”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2013

Not really much to say about this place there are a couple of mosaic rooms with tombs set in a large courtyard area. Nice enough place to visit and take photos. There is a small entry charge, inside there is no information at all. If you're passing and have time visit but don't stress about leaving this place off the list of things to do.
