Owner description: The Saadian Tombs are located just outside Marrakech and were constructed during the reign of Sultan Ahmad al-Mansur in the late 16th century. This is the resting place of al-Mansur, his family, and other notable officials from that era. These tombs were discovered in 1917; restoration began shortly thereafter. Today, much of its original splendour has been restored.

“Simply Stunning”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013

The Saadian Tombs is one of the must see attractions in Marrakech, Morocco. Intricate mosaic work combined with relaxing floral gardens, hidden away. Make sure you visit on a quiet week day, not a Friday or a weekend. Allow 1 to 2 hours to look around, no more. Do not get tricked in to taking a short cut through some of the hand made sign posts that guide you through tourist shops.

“Waste of time”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

We stood in the hot sun for about an hour to see this. It was just ok. There is so much else that doesn't have a line, I would have definitely skipped it had I known.

“excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2013

We enjoyed the novel experience of such a large collection of tombs. The line into the main hall was very long, so we didn't go; I'm sure it would have added even more. It was interesting to learn how to tell the Moslem tombs from the Jewish ones.

“Small but beautiful”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2013

We paid dirhams, walked around for 5 minutes, took photos for a further 5, then waited 10 to see the main tomb (pictured in the photos above). Then we moved on!
