Have just returned from a week in this hotel. Was quite apprehensive as believe you usually get what you pay for and it is a cheap hotel. Overall was pleasantly surprised.
Location is superbe. Quiet, no noise at night but 5 mins from the amazing main square. Building is beautiful- wonderful mosaics and 2 courtyards. We had room 19 as recommended by a previous review which is on the roof. It was fine- a little tired perhaps but large and clean and very importantly, well heated with an electric heater which we could control. The weather was very cold esp. the first few days and I gathered other rooms may not have been as well heated. (tip. If you go in winter take slippers or thick socks as tiles bathroom floor cold!)
Lots of staff, all very helpful and will arrange good value trips. We did a day trip into the Atlas mountains(tip.Trips will stop at several tourist shops. Lovely quality things carpets, jewellery, argon oil etc. They don' t do hard sell and stuff tempting but will be much cheaper in the town.)
Breakfast nice (though stodgy apart from the gorgeous fresh orange juice)) Lovely roof garden. We managed to sunbathe a few times and great view of Atlas mountains from the roof.
My one gripe was the 3 cats who seemed to get everywhere esp. the cushions on the roof. One was coughing and seemed ill. They were all pampered. Realise cats were a plus for some guests who loved them but definitely weren't for me!
Overall though this is a great budget hotel. Was always full in contrast to some of the more expensive ones and very good value.
