“Good by Moroccan standards....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2011

After having read through the reviews on here, there are some valid points and some not so. This hotel probably is 5 star based on moroccan standards. The food isn't great, but it's not that great anywhere in marrakech. Yes taxi's will try rip you off, but there is always the bus.. Or barter... The location was ideal for us ( 2 females) as it got us away from the hassle of the local men constantly bugging us, i would not have liked being any closer to the main square. You can walk it to the new town which is much calmer than the main areas. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are dated but I didn't come across much in Marrakech that wasn't. Any issues I had were probably down to not being that fond of Marrakech, not the hotel itself.

Room Tip: Facing the gardens

We took a last minute break to what we thought was going to be a Birthday Beau. The hotel cannot be blamed for the ghastly weather which rained every single day. All in all the hotel had some faults but was a decent escape from the beggars and con artists which seem to haunt you everywhere you go. We did struggle with the food and lack of tea / coffee facilities. Having waited for over 45 minutes for 1 tea & 1 coffee to find that the milk was off and paying 40 Dirhams (£3.12p) + tip each time. There is no information in the rooms to identify times for breakfast, etc. The hotel's position does not bode well for the main attractions therefore Taxi costs need to be catered for(be very careful they will try to get every possible dirham out of you). Unfortunately we could only get the movie channel on the TV and as my partner suffered a serious bout of food poisoning we were stuck in the hotel room for the last day. the hotel mainly caters for the French with very little signage in English. The upshot is : A clean hotel, friendly staff, very cold in bad weather,

stayed at the kenzi for a week 24/31 oct what can i say, was looking forward to our trip to Marrakech arrived at 10.30 and all seemed ok went straight to restaurant to eat had some spaghetti, thats as good as it got. Went to room very poorly decorated no air-con,broken bed, 1970s tvwith broken remote, which would not normally be a problem as many of you would say stay at home to whatch tv but as the hotel had no entertainment on and the disco was closed and the all inclusive deal ended at 11pm there was not much else to do. The one good thing the hotel offered was the gardens with its pool which were very nice. With the air-con not working we had to leave the balcony doors open as it was so humid but we were then awoken every morning at 5.30 by the call to prayer as the mosque is just down the road from the hotel. ALL IN ALL this hotel is in need of alot of TLC max 3* at a push. There are better hotels to stay in around the same are, just make sure your hotel hasnt switched the air con off as they are not full of guests. As for the food i could go to any supermarket cafe and get tastier stuff everything tasted the same, and what wasnt ate at lunchtime turned up at tea time disguised as something else, we were all inclusive which didnt include alot of the services like the al a carte restaurant, mini bar in room, now i have stopped at over 20 all inclusive hotels and all restaurants have been inluded in the deal and cosidering we paid nearly 2000 pounds for this holiday we were again dissappointed, we ended up eating out on 5 of our 7 days luckily there are some nice restaurants close to the hotel. GLAD TO BE HOME.

I can't believe how some people whinge about petty things. I stayed 4 nights in early october (and 1 night trekking up Toubkal in the mountains) and thought on the whole it was, for the money, excellent.

The room was great...2 doubles, clean bath/shower and separate loo, balcony over fantastic gardens. TV with a few foreign channels....but hey, you dont come to morocco to watch telly.
Breakfast had a great choice of stuff and once you figured out what you liked it set us up for the day ahead.

I was only staying on a B&B basis but tried the strada restaurant a couple of times and the food was a bit disappointing. A better option is a restaurant just out on the main road next door to the Total petrol station...bowl of bean soup 30p, great salads, tangines, coffee etc. Lots of locals there.

As for the rest of the hotel...quite spacious and clean but fairly empty. Staff friendly and helpful. Occasional querky things but thats to be expected.

Superb gardens and deep pool. An ideal spot to escape the mania of the medina and souks. Taxis a bit pricey so went on the No1 bus (just flag it down out on the main road) and for 30p it takes you right to the centre by the caleches. Taxi back to the airport 100 dirhams (they'll try it on for more)

Recommend it, just dont expect 5*

Hotel is about 7 km. away from town center, too far for walking in the sun. Plenty of taxis close by. We visited off season, which showed especially on the staffing. The prices in the hotel restaurents and bar is about dubble the same service just around the corner.
The hotel is clean and well cared for.

Room Tip: M.ake sure your room is towards the garden

Having read the reviews of this hotel before travelling I had some doubts and didn't expect too much. However, from entering the hotel to leaving we found all the staff, without exception welcoming and courteous, A very important factor. The food was very good and we found something to suit our healthy appetites at every meal although we did miss the jam or marmalade with our toast, we could live with that.

I loved the space around this hotel, 3 floors of light and airy space to sit and relax to the sound of the water fountain. The gardens were delightful and very well kept and a pleasure to sit in.

Probably the only thing I would say regarding some negative reviews is that freshening up in the toilet area in the rooms, perhaps new tiling (I realise retiling isn't something you can do as easily as a lick of paint) and cleaning the back of the bathroom door etc a little bit more attention to detail would really help this hotel. I have no doubt they have that on their agenda.

As a maturish (I hate to admit that) middle aged Scottish couple, we had a lovely stay and we speak minimal French. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: We had the basic double room with balcony on the second floor looking out onto the front of the Hote...
