“5 star You're having a laugh!!!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2012

This hotel can hardly be described as a 5 star hotel no matter what country you reside in.
The place is lacking in so many areas however if anybody with half a business brain took it over and managed it properly things could be improved with little cost and time.
The staff on the main desk were ignorant of the fact that people were paying good money to stay there and were arrogant in their approach to any matter. All staff spoke little English not that i expect fluency within a foreign country however i do expect to be able to communicate with staff on any matter in a so called 5 star hotel.
The hotel room was dirty with curtains smoke stained throughout and mould stains around the shower/bath sealants. The restaurants on site were ok however menus were not in English only French and the food was of a sub-standard quality throughout apart from breakfast which had a decent choice for all.
The staff in the Spa need to understand that guests pay their wages and i do not expect to be shouted at for a 100DHS on numerous occasions because i was swimming in the pool even though it was included in the price (again an English lesson might help?)
Overall this hotel is in need of minor repairs in so many places ie; cracked tiles, painted woodwork, weathered seating by pool that it would not take a lot to bring it up to a decent standard but 5 star it 'ain't!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is not a 5 star hotel only 3. room was very average. the hotel is run down and needs updating. reception staff and other hotel staff are rude and not willing to help you unless you speak french, some of the menus are in french and staff can not translate in to English. food very average. could not get wifi on most of the time. complimentary dinner and drinks was included in the package, hotel tried to charge us for the meal on the invoice when checking out and never received the complimentary drink. poolside and hotel grounds are nice and relaxing, only downside too many flies!! worst hotel experience and would not recommend to anyone visiting this hotel.

The elevator, only one exists, in this hotel is laughable. It's like a coffin, only one person can fit in it with your bags. Seriously, for this large of a hotel, the hotel should have replaced this with a bank of normal size elevators long ago. There is a long line at the elevator when a group is checking in - it's ridiculous.

The quality of the room is good to western tourist standards. Buffet breakfast is excellent, large, with lots to chose from. Pool is excellent, and grounds are excellent. Location is walking distance for those with strong legs to the main square. It takes about 30 mins to walk there, or a quick taxi ride. Hotel has nice shopping arcade in the basement with fair prices. But Marrakech near the main square is a shopping bonanza, especially the Souk extending away from the main square. American fast food and many ATM's are available near the square. Horse carriage rental available for evening rides there also. Try the fresh squeezed orange juice from the car vendors in the square at night, it's delicious and cheap, less than 50 cents a glass. This is the place to load up on your souvenirs so you might want to make Marrakech your last stop on your trip to avoid carrying all that you buy across Morocco. Lots of great restaurants overlooking the main square.

Wifi supposedly available in the hotel but I couldn't get it work unless you are in the lobby.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the floor one floor above the lobby level so you can use the stairs instead of wai...

The room was big, clean and had everything you would want. The beds were comfortable and the housekeeping staff were really friendly (despite us only speaking a little French).

The reception staff were a little hit and miss. There were a couple of really helpful staff - we needed to print out boarding passes and they let us use the managers computer to check our flights and print them off however the previous day two members of staff told me that there wasn't a computer or printer in the hotel. I also wanted some change to tip the concierge for looking after our bags but the guy on reception wouldn't change our 200 DH note even after explaining that what it was for and noticing that they had a currency exchange (incidentally it was the same member of staff who said there was no way for us to print our boarding passes). I would recommend looking for the older members of staff as they are far more helpful!

The hotel is walking distance from the old town, the new town and the train station. Taxis to the old town cost 10 - 20 DH depending on the time of day and how long you were willing to haggle for!

The breakfast was amazing and had so much choice. The breakfast staff were very helpful.

The pool was freezing and I was a little shocked at the 100 DH charge to use the indoor heated pool (needless to say we didn't use the indoor pool). The spa on site looked good but the prices were extortionate compared to places around the old town (3 times more for a massage).

Would stay here again just for the location and breakfasts!

Room Tip: We were in the rooms above the conference centre (3230) and it was really quiet here.

Just left after 3 nights of the worst hotel experience. They would not turn on the air conditioning despite 88 degree temperature. Staff were not helpful. We changed rooms 4 times and all rooms were hot and stuffy. They never told us that the rooms in the spa/gym building were air conditioned. When we requested a fan, they asked "why" We asked for reservations at TripAdvisor researched restaurants and they said they didn't exist!

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the spa or gym building where the air conditioning is on. Rooms facing the pool w...

We liked this hotel. There were guests of various nationalities, including many French guests, and the staff were friendly and multi-lingual, able to switch easily between languages. We arrived at 11.00 a.m. after travelling on an early flight, so it was nice to learn that the room was ready and there was no waiting around. We also liked the flexibility. We had a half-board package and the hotel allowed us to take either lunch or dinner within the package, giving us the flexibility to try Marrakech restaurants in the evenings. It was nice to have two comfortable double beds in a twin room. The outdoor pool was large and, though unheated, it was warm enough to swim in towards the end of October. I would agree with some comments in other reviews concerning the 5 star rating. This is a nice hotel with good facilities and an acceptable restaurant, but it's not quite the same as a 5 star rating in the UK and the food on the half-board package is a bit limited. There are perfectly acceptable buffet-style Moroccan dishes and seasonal salads/vegetables. If you want international cuisine, you need to go upmarket and pay a bit more.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher floor with a pool view, this gives a nice view of the gardens too.

I stayed here as part of a tour group. This was our third hotel and my favorite. I traveled with a female friend, so we both liked the fact that there were two double beds in the room versus two single beds. We also like the fact that the shower was separate from the toilet. Free wireless. There was a nice reastaurant in walking distance from the hotel with an open deck and live music. Very modern. I can't recall the name though. Having an ATM machine in the lobby was a nice touch. Breakfast was good, with an option to get an omelet. The only negative was that the AC ws a little loud, but I would stay here again.
